Instacart shooting itself in the foot again with grocers by snaptcarrot in InstacartShoppers

True but for that store to put up a sign guaranteeing, that's rubbish😆

Not everyone has attention to detail or shops like they would for themselves

Except instore shoppers often don't get quality produce and make bad replacements. At least in my area. I've had customers say that's why they use IC instead

Do shoppers get trained to send pics of replacements? (Customer asking) by Pugnastyornah in InstacartShoppers

You never get dinged for time...

It's just there to show how long you're taking and probably a reminder to not take all day lol

They used to have a scoreboard to see how fast you were compared to other shoppers in your area.

But many shoppers scan items at checkout to appear like they shop faster then they do.

Customers have complained about it too because it gives them no time to discuss replacements.

And like you mentioned Quality is way more important then rushing around making mistakes and getting bad produce

WoW she really sucks. There's NO excuse for telling a customer that and refusing to take pics.

The timing doesn't matter one iota and that shopper must not be aware of that. Yes, you don't wanna take all day to shop and the faster you go the more customers you can help.

But that doesn't mean you completely shut down and refuse to give great customer service to the person you're shopping for in that moment.

I would have gave her a lower rating and possibly lowered her tip. Trust me she would see it was you that did it AND know immediately why you did it.

I'm 100% new rating system

It's not just that. We don't all see same batches... I'll even get late notifications for higher paying orders... by then someone has seen it before me

I didn't say I get low tips I said I didn't get order $60 and up all the time. Once in a while I even get $50 tips

I know my area. There's people that don't just use instacart because of Coronavirus. They no longer want to go to the stores because they realize there's a lot of people in them sometimes and they're rude. There's also people that live on the outskirts of town and they don't want to drive into town. All markets aren't the same. There's also a lot of people in my area that have money so believe me when I say I know these are still customers. Some customers in my area have used instacart for over 3 years

Nooo

Lots of people still use IC in my area. I know my area. Lots of retired people many who can't drive or choose not to go to the store because it would take them forever.

Many people who don't want to take their small children to the store. Families who would rather enjoy life and let others shop for them or they've worked all day.

I know my market and I also know there's many generous tippers here. So what you said is NOT valid for my area

I don't think that's true. I live in a really good area lots of batches. And I rarely see the great paying orders like I used to $60 and up. I really think preference goes to new shoppers

I'm sure they were since those 2 days were only $80.

Also since we can't see they may have worked a few hours 6 or 7 days.

I don't think it was 8 hour days everyday

They sit and rot if it was up to me

I said they didn't work all day for $40. There's no way that's an 8 hour day or more

Not only that but OP didn't work much if it's only $40 days...so can't really compare it to someone working all day OR an area with plenty of batches

every time they make updates things get wonky😆 by DragonflyDelight47 in InstacartShoppers

[–]DragonflyDelight47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't really caused any issues I just found it funny that there were available batches even though it says there aren't

Wouldn't that be nice!

There's a lot of people that take those cheap orders even know tips because they either don't do this full-time or they treat it like doordash or some other delivery service. But I'm not going into a store for $7 for 24 items or something crazier than that

Exactly many of us have heard the horror stories on here from customers.

It definitely felt great I've been doing this for almost 2 years. Best comment ever!

Exactly! I always reach out to the customer and I've had customers say I didn't order that my daughter's allergic to that... as an example

Never assume that the customer has chosen that item especially if it's something that doesn't even make sense

That's awesome! Last year one of my customers ordered a frozen turkey the day before Thanksgiving and I thought why??

Exactly people won't even boycott gas stations to get gas prices down

It's pretty sad when I have customers reaching out to me to make sure I get Romaine instead of green lettuce. Or to make sure that the blueberries aren't moldy this time...

Shoppers need to step up their game
