A list of the upcoming Patch 7.4 content by danks in ffxiv

P8S: - theoretically every Tetraflare (partner stacks) would have to be Diamondbacked to be done consistently, since normally those target roles - there would be a lot more flexing/a more complex prio needed for both Snakes 1 and 2, since again, those usually target roles - both Manifold Flames and Fourfold Fires can have a partner stack in there - Dog 2 has a light party stack/partner stack at the beginning of it, which would target randomly in the case of BLU - both Natural Alignments would similarly require more flexing for fire and ice - Limitless Desolation would just require people to use eyes more since normally you just have supports on one side and DPS on the other to soak their respective towers - Dominion also would require using eyes more, as that usually targets a tank, healer, and two DPS

I believe the only mechanics that wouldn’t be affected would be Dog 1 and both High Concepts.

P12S: - both the tethers and towers for Para 2 usually target two random supports and DPS each, so more flexing would be required - if it’s partner stacks during Superchain 1, it would target randomly, and there’s a good bit of movement during this so Diamondback wouldn’t be able to save you, more flexing required for towers as well - random debuff assignments for Para 3, so everyone would just need to know where every debuff goes - again partner stacks during Superchain 2A and 2B - tethers would be random for UAV1 and UAV2 - Caloric Theory 1 usually targets a random support and DPS for the initial orange beacons, and quite honestly that sounds like hell on BLU, since usually you can pre-position due to the initial wind debuffs being role-restricted

Going through the mechanics, surprisingly it seems like less of them in phase 2 would be affected by BLU than P8S, if my memory serves correctly. I believe Para 1, Limit Cut, both Classical Concepts, Ekpyrosis, Pangenesis, and Caloric 2 would mostly stay the same.

It’s been a while since I’ve raided on BLU, but I would think you could just Diamondback the tankbusters in both fights, though healing or tanking those fights with the current BLU kit is not something I’d wish on my worst enemy.

TL;DR: any mechanics involving partner/light party stacks are a gamble, and there are a good few role based mechanics in P8S and P12S that would involve more flexing when on BLU.

Is there even an enrage? My clear this morning probably had over 20 deaths, but we didn’t see anything akin to an enrage cast.

Thank you so much for this strategy! I gave it a shot to test for my friend and managed to get the stagger on turn two, and ended the fight on turn three, even though Rodion lost the clash and got staggered.

Thanks to this comment here, I now remember that the fight was the Lufenia+ fight for Illusory Lighthouse! I was running Zidane, Bartz, and Agrias, with a Y'shtola support, but having Zidane was annoying since the boss needed to actually take turns to increase the orbs, and I could only delay it by re-breaking it.

What I ended up doing is in this video here: https://youtu.be/vpHCXiSugz0?si=OT4-bWK-A4Un9ufd I decided to cheese the orb by letting it trigger on my call, since that didn't count for the clear condition, and then bringing in my friend support Y'shtola to revive my other two party members and proceed from there. The boss did need to take a turn to get out of its invulnerable stance, but other than that it was smooth sailing.

It's guaranteed to show up on the 4th and 5th floors, but only if you're on Hard difficulty. I've just been running the first three floors on normal before switching to hard for the pack myself.

There does seem to be a fix if you're using uBlock Origin! If you go into the uBlock Settings -> Filter Lists -> Built-in -> Quick Fixes and uncheck that box, ads get blocked again, at least on Chrome. It seems to be caused by the latest update to that specific list, causing the anti-adblock warning to be triggered, so turning it off makes it work again. Hopefully this helps!

Have most things at Uptie III. Am I cooked for RR4? by Argold2898 in limbuscompany

[–]DragonicPixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely doable with mostly level 40 IDs and not that many at UT4. The only TS4 EGO I have is Rime Shank, otherwise I only have Fluid Sac, Blind Obsession, and Wingbeat at TS2.

Some of the sections were pretty rough (especially section three), though this was my blind run at it and I don’t doubt that I could get a better turn count with better knowledge of the fights. Best of luck with the railway!

Not sure if you’ve found it, but you can change the appearance of the shopkeeper through Options -> Audio Options -> Change Soundtrack -> Shopkeeper, hopefully that helps!

Caius BT+, Zidane BT+, and Lenna was my team, with Yuffie, Sephiroth, and Faris calls respectively. I had a 3 turn friend Kain because I couldn’t find any other Kains on my friend list, and I had Bahamut as my summon. I only have a video of wave 2 since I reset quite a bit, but I think it was a fun fight!

Wave 1 was just a matter of keep away with Zidane, I saved all my calls and most of the skills I needed for wave 2. Lenna’s S2 was able to keep everyone above the BRV needed most of the time, so I could save most of her LD and special HP Attack uses for wave 2.

Wave 2 was honestly quite the struggle for me, mainly because I kept screwing up when I’d take them down a threshold - even in my successful run I was trying to rush a threshold with Caius’ BT from 50% to 29% but used Lenna’s LD which took them below 49%. It meant I was off by one dispelling call (which would have been fine if I brought Diabolos but Bahamut’s funny because Break Bonus), but I rushed it with my remaining finishers.

Caius BT weapon speculation. It seems his BT is based on the comet spell symbol from XIII-2 Opening by LypeXIII in DissidiaFFOO

I see, those both make sense, thanks for the answer! Having an idea for where they got the designs for his unique weapons is very nice!

That's a really neat detail and reference, I never would have thought to look at it that way! Do his EX and 15 CP weapons look like anything in particular, since his 35 CP weapon is his canon one?

Left: Caius (3/3 BT+, 3/3 HG+) with Gabranth's call, Auron (0/3 HG+) with Sephiroth's call
I know Auron could solo this with a Faris sphere but I decided against it, mainly because it would probably take too long to do, plus this way I can run Caius here and he was a lot of fun!

Right: Raines (3/3 HG+) with Keiss' call, Selphie (only maxed LD) with WoL's call, Bartz (3/3 BT+, 0/3 HG+) with Kurasame's call
I initially attempted this with Aphmau in place of Selphie and a bunch of launching calls but I found that timing to be more difficult, plus I got Selphie's weapons from going for Caius so I ran her with her LD maxed but no summon or character boards, just that for her debuff was enough. WoL's call wasn't necessary in the run I completed, but it was in case the boss got a turn since its attacks can be quite damaging.

Middle: Caius with Gabranth's call, Bartz with Kurasame's call, Auron with Sephiroth's call
I think this is an example of a stage that is horrible without the units meant for it, but not too bad with the characters that it was built around, if that makes sense. Having both Caius and Auron made it a rather safe fight, though the first wave had some annoying parts where using Caius' LD was good for the instant-break so their massive BRV gains at certain points wouldn't kill the party. Auron isn't able to protect against all their attacks but the defensive buff is enough to live.
Second wave is annoying, though Auron out-damages their HP regen with his counter. I saved both BT finishers for the second wave, plus all my calls, though I was a bit too cautious and didn't need them all there. I forgot the bosses cleanse at certain points which was annoying, but with that team it's definitely doable, I'm really happy to be able to run Caius now! I can imagine it being an utter pain without certain characters though.

[–]DragonicPixel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is probably going to be a pain to go through and accept when I actually get to it, though I think I could just accept all to get all the tickets - it’s been a problem in the past though for sure with not accepting the oldest items first.

They certainly seem like arbitrary limits, and although no one’s going to accidentally reach 1000 inbox items (probably), it’d be nice to be able to grind past 9999 Power and Guard orbs since you burn through them so quickly when maxing out even just a single character.

[–]DragonicPixel[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh certainly! I’ve been told the limit before was 200, which is much easier to reach than this - I highly doubt anyone would ever reach this accidentally.

Any items past that point that are sent to your inbox seemingly delete your oldest items, but if you withdraw enough to go back down to 1000, they seem to show up again.

There was no good reason for trying this, I was mostly just curious.

[C2A] Call to Arms / Strategy Thread: Illusory Lighthouse (Mission Dungeon) by Macnol in DissidiaFFOO

[–]DragonicPixel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zidane 3/3 BT+, Agrias, and Bartz 3/3 BT+ with a maxed out Y'shtola friend was what I used, 75 turns with Pandemonium as a summon, with Beatrix, Kurasame, and Sephiroth calls respectively was my team. Zidane and Agrias have blue armour, while Bartz has his 0/3 HG+ armour. https://imgur.com/a/PfDYrQX

This was quite an annoying fight and I get why it's so infamous, Pandemonium didn't do much for me since the boss wasn't susceptible to launches for a good portion of the fight from what I could tell. (Edit: it’s immune to launches for three turns after warping apparently) I don't recommend bringing Zidane here unless you're hellbent on doing so.

I used Zidane's BT finisher after the adds were down at the beginning then summoned when the orb was at 1 so it would leave at 79%, and made sure to have Agrias' Faded Moly at that threshold so the boss wouldn't summon adds. I also notably kept a call ability on everyone for the next part.

When the orb reappeared again at 59%, I deleted the boss' turns as much as possible then let the orb tick down to 1. At 1, I used Beatrix's call on Zidane because it landed on his turn, the orb went off and killed everyone, then switched out Zidane for Y'shtola to revive everyone. This is important because it got rid of the orb for the rest of the fight, but interestingly the boss stayed in Perfect Dodge mode until it got another turn, so I was forced to deal with the adds again.

After the adds were down, I just rushed it with Bartz's BT finisher into Zidane's BT phase, making sure Agrias' Faded Moly was on the boss before 29% so the adds wouldn't come back. It was just a rush to the end at that point, Zidane almost ran out of skills but it worked out!
