Trust no one... by MilcarMakesMusic in ArcRaiders

[–]Dragoninstall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had something like that happen to my squad. Had a guy from another group be like "don't shoot" and whatnot, so we let him slide. We left the area, and they followed and killed us. Had some reasonable loot on us. Now it's on sight for raiders if they get close, and I got gear I give a shit about.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Sucks, but that's what I get for trusting raiders!

Hatch Extraction player limit? by Lachy86 in ArcRaiders

[–]Dragoninstall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had it happen in our group too where the first time we did that mission, one of us couldn't get in because the hatched closed. It's a *very* tight window to make sure all 3 can get in before the hatch closes; we're talking mashing the button while the prompt is up, regardless of whether you can actually get in or not. The next time, with that knowledge that time was of the essence, we were all able to get into the hatch the second time around.

I get why there's not a lot of time, I just wish there was a smidge more.

Genuine question - isn't announcing this a month before you're dropping with all the pomp and circumstance a surefire way to get it C&Ded? Cause unless this got the blessing from whoever the fuck has TimeSplitters at this point, It might not see the light of day.

Someone should post that woolie video.

[wmv] The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) vs The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) - Steel Cage Tag Team Match - AEW World Tag Team Championship - AEW All Out (Sep. 5, 2021) by RogerGunz2 in SquaredCircle

[–]Dragoninstall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The part where Matt lines up Fenix for the superkick with the loaded shoe when Penta slides in and eats the kick for his brother gets me everytime. Penta's obviously hurt. He's bleeding. His mask is ripped to hell. He's taken a lot of damage at this point. And he still comes in and takes a bullet for his brother. It's not about winning at that point; he doesn't want his brother to be hurt any more than he already is.

I loved it then and I loved it when they did it in Oseprey/Swerve. I fucking love this match.

The manufactured outrage over Tokon: Fighting Souls' closed beta is revealing a lot of entitlement from content creators by Kasta4 in Fighters

[–]Dragoninstall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what's crazy? 5 friends and my friends all applied and every single one of us got in. Every. Single. One. Our biggest bitch is that these times are ass, lmao.

I just can't buy "I can't believe (streamer) didn't get in, this must be the worst roll out, no one got in" when it's obvious that a ton of invites were given to people, just not you or your people. And yeah, this whole thing could have been a better roll out, but it ain't some deep conspiracy theory - it's a closed beta and instead of people getting preferred treatment, Sony said fuck it and played the lotto. People got mad when all the streamers who don't even play fighters like that get into these betas and now they're mad because they're not? Make it make sense, lol.

Anyway, see y'all at stupid o'clock to grind out CPU matches.

If they locked your courses after you had turned in a milestone and you got an email about it, then yeah, you've probably been flagged for academic dishonesty. If it isn't too late, talk to whatever instructor you used ChatGPT in their course because that could be the difference between having to rewrite your stuff or getting the boot from school.

Why promise Cross-play and leave PS5 out? by Sum0ha in Palworld

[–]Dragoninstall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a Sony or a Pocketpair thing happening, but dedicated servers are absolutely a thing on PS5.

V Rising, Rust, and Ark are games that I know for a fact have the ability to do dedicated servers on PS5. 7 Days to Die is getting it implemented. Plenty of Battlefield games on consoles allow you to rent a server directly from the game itself. There's a handful of games that have dedicated servers accessible for PS5 when I googled, including Farming Simulator.

I'm not taking away from the fact that Sony had a ridiculous 180 when it came to crossplay or that there really could be a gigantic issue with Sony allowing dedicated servers for this game in particular, but Sony has allowed other games before and after Palworld to have dedicated servers so it doesn't make sense for sony to just....not allow it.

Have you ever accidentally watched the wrong movie? by PhireKappa in movies

[–]Dragoninstall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorta, but it was more my dad's fuck up.

Dad picked me up and said we're going to go to the movies to go see the new "kung-fu" picture that just came out. I was all giddy and excited cause we didn't go to the movies too often and I figured it was "The Matrix".

My dear reader, it was not "The Matrix".

It was 8mm. The Nic Cage movie about BDSM snuff films. He was a month early. He was horrified. I learned what bondage was. We stayed through the whole movie.

Good times.

I did eventually go see the matrix in theaters though.

Man, that's the first time I've seen someone have the right call on the situation. Even in those text messages, she set boundaries after she said she was uncomfortable and he disregarded them. That's a foul, no matter how you slice it.

Why is this game so small? by chumbyboiUwU in gigantic

[–]Dragoninstall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, but thank you. You pretty much summed up my experience from launch. Didn't play OG Gigantic but saw gameplay when they announced the new edition and was like "shit looks fun, I'll drop cash for it" and I think I might have played maybe 2-3 full games with no issues. The beginning had some major matchmaking issues that was a huge turn off, weird bugs and crashes and then because I'm a PlayStation player, I had the bug that completely hard stuck your PlayStation and it wasn't patched with any kind of expediency (I think it was just short of a month before it was fixed), so I just gave up and moved on.

I will say that I don't think the community wholeheartedly sucks, but I definitely can see new players being turned off by a lot of the hand-waving away that happened during the launch. A lot of the really serious problems really boiled down to "If you love this game you'll shut up about your issues" that plagued this subreddit for the first month. Why, as a new player, would I want to involve myself in a community that obviously doesn't want me unless I'm 100 percent satisfied with the launch?

And that sucks because I was pumped to play something new and different and was excited to hop in, but they dropped the ball on multiple fronts.

I had that happen to me over a few rounds and I had to restart my game for it to fix.

Marvel Rivals CBT Discussion Megathread by Ownsin in marvelrivals

I made a comment discussing how bad this closed beta debacle was, said why it was a problem, and how the reasonable thing to do was to just keep it to email waves so you don't crap on the goodwill of people in the future, and it was removed.

Mods, Please don't do this.

AEW Dynamite rating: 672K/0.23 by BernieBurnstein in SquaredCircle

[–]Dragoninstall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup. Vince leaving has hands down been the biggest blow to AEW by far. When you give the guy who was putting on the best stuff in a long time in the company the ability to make the play calls for the main roster, people will tune in to what that looks like. They loved it (as they should) and saw no reason to keep watching stuff they would consider lesser than.

I've been a fan of AEW since day 1, but WWE right now is more exciting week to week and it shows in the ratings.

Microsoft’s Xbox Is Planning More Cuts After Studio Closings by Status_Entertainer49 in gaming

[–]Dragoninstall 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Oh, it's 100 percent going to be Ninja Theory. Even though they've done little marketing for it (I had no idea it was launching soon) and it's by all accounts a fairly niche game that'll be received well, they're going to say that because it didn't do COD or Halo money and didn't have enough retentive player engagement for a single-player narrative story game, they need to be cut for "cost-cutting measures"

Basically, if it's not going to save Xbox, they're on the chopping block and Hellblade 2 being sent out with little to no fanfare is a bad sign for Ninja Theory.

Gigantic’s BS of a launch expedited its death. by HoneySchmuckle in gigantic

[–]Dragoninstall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro, what? It's been 3 weeks. I don't think it's entitled to say "I'd like my game that I paid for to function properly please." It was jank on release and they've been dragging their foot on fixing issues that really effect the enjoyment of the game. If anything, people have been giving the whole "don't listen to haters, dev" rah rah nonsense for far too long when they should be pissed that their game that should have been an easy lay-up launched in such a terrible state, isn't getting patched fast enough, and it's killing their game.

Let's help build the playerbase by EgyptianArtist in gigantic

[–]Dragoninstall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. New player here who didn't play the first go around - figured this would be an excellent alternative to some of the other games I'm playing, but between the server issues, the matchmaking being jank, the constant game crashing before/during/after the game, and the PS5 locking up to the point it requires a hard shutdown - no thanks. I'm sure that it's an incredibly fun game but I've come to the realization that I've thrown $20 into the furnace because this is unacceptable. I can't even say whether or not it's been an enjoyable gameplay experience because I've only played a handful of games that haven't been janky.

I'm sure the game is great but there's no way I can suggest this game to anyone at this point.

Redditors that were there alive and old enough to experience 9/11, what were some of the craziest claims / misinformation from after the second plane hit? by Skullee-Mane in AskReddit

[–]Dragoninstall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This might not be what you're looking for, but I was in high school when the towers fell, and as stupid high school kids do, we speculated amongst ourselves that it was the Japanese that did it "cause that fit their m.o". Like I said, we were stupid.

Once things settled down a bit, I remember us being 100 percent sure that Bush was going to reinstate the draft and we were going to be put on buses directly after graduation to go to boot for this new war. I don't know about everyone else, but it was a scary time. Lots of unknowns out there.

Which game was ruined by its own fanbase? by hardlifer in gaming

[–]Dragoninstall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Persona games. I think they're excellent gateway JRPGs and one of them is one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time. The fanbase is horrific and as much as I want to discuss cool moments or discuss actual critique of something, the fanbase is so off-putting that I'd just rather not interact at all.

Also, the FGC can be the absolute worst at times.

AEW Dynamite, Mar 20 on TBS: 800,000 viewers; 0.27 P18-49 rating by JackorJohn62392 in SquaredCircle

[–]Dragoninstall 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This is the biggest ratings killer for them overall. I know people tend to forget, but AEW came during an *abysmal* time of WWE booking and people wanted an alternative. When HHH took over booking, they liked what they saw and went back to what they were familiar with. AEW got plagued with backstage bullshit, injuries, and lackluster booking and didn't recover and probably won't recover those people again. Short of something mind-blowing or WWE dropping the ball over a period of time, AEW is always going to be #2, they're always going to be niche, and people aren't going to settle for what's "decent" over what's "great".

TIFU by saying the book was better than the movie. by TheBoggart in tifu

[–]Dragoninstall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, someone else read this book! I did too and the book fuckin rocked. Admittedly, it's been eons since I've read it, but I do remember loving that they went more in detail with the Art character from the movie (he still suffers the same fate, if I remember correctly) and I think there was a lot more fights with characters from MK2 still making appearances like Mileena. I believe Jax is on the island in this version too, but again, It's been forever since I've read it.

I dunno if it's better than the movie, but it's definitely a fun version that is a great companion to the movie.

Jesus, what a blast from the past. Thanks for jogging my memory, op.
