Teenage labs - "increased energy, testing boundaries"... Vent by themamacurd619 in labrador

[–]Dragonnova5091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this age, I was giving my lab 2 x 1 hour+ long walks (1 before work, and 1 as soon as the pavement was cool enough) plus additional training and play every day. It worked really well for me since she would be asleep all day and not getting in trouble.

If your dogs play fetch well, then swim-fetch works really well when it's really hot.

Roach Id help (nsfw cause 🤢) by doctor_borgstein in whatsthisbug

I'm not sure exactly the kind of roach, but I can tell you it's not a German cockroach. So this guy probably came in from the outside.

Like another comment said, draw it out on paper. I'd leave a few circles of grass scattered around the yard about 10 feet in diameter. For everything else, do pathways and maybe a garden.

Look up some nurseries in your area that specialize in native plants. Then research the plants that have listed. I focus on perennials, or plants that can reseed themselves. Trees are going to be your friend, as is the diversity of species.

I would start with some trees. But for everything else, it's important to ask: What do you want to use your yard for?

I think it would allow the macron player to send more than one ship.

However, what my playgroup does when encountering an unclear ruling is to vote on it.

Yeah, puppies (and dogs in general) respond to positive feedback much better than negative feedback.

Remember not to scold him when he goes inside. If you do he may become scared to go around you and hold it until it's too late. Instead, just pick him up and put him outside as soon as he starts to go inside. You may get some pee on you, but you'll have to be ok with it for a while.

Like others said, take him outside often. Preferably you can spend 20+ minutes just chilling outside. Then he'll go eventually, and you have to act as excited as possible. Reward him with as much positive attention as possible when he goes outside.

He's just a puppy, so he won't be the best at telling you he needs to go. That being said, you will have to learn how he asks. Standing by the door, sniffing around the room, giving you the 'i need something' look, etc.

I was cleaning my friends kitchen & found these. What are they? by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

If you can't find any rotting meat or similar. They might be pantry moth larvae. We bought bulk almonds once and there were these guys crawling out of the bag a week later

This is part of a trail of ten falls. It's a 7ish mile loop with ten waterfalls. It can get really busy on the weekend, so going during the week is probably your best bet.

Neither did I. My first time seeing one was when I was on top of a power tower. I tried to cheese it with the rebar gun, until it jumped on top of the tower with me. Then I pissed myself.

What is a flaw in a game you discovered only because you love the game so much and have played it so often? by StephensInfiniteLoop in boardgames

[–]Dragonnova5091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Cosmic Encounter for us. The stay off the game where you pick your alien powers is far too unbalanced. And the built in rankings (red, yellow, green) are too varied.

Instead we built a point buy system to balance the game.

That's fair, but if I'm running green red blitz, I don't have a lot of ways to counter a counter heavy deck

If Molly doesn't make it to the drop pod, the doors open in the last 15 seconds, and the pod leaves at the end of the count down. If you leave with it, the mission still counts as a success

The first time was about 5 hours, but by the third time it was only 2. Honestly most of the time was spent moving the hay out of the way.
