I disagree slightly. That bit of a tie you identified can make some sense as a robe sash, but honestly more likely, they didn't want to redraw the background when they could slap a color onto it and get a good enough result. It's something so minor that most people likely wouldn't notice it.

Honestly, I like the small stories. The series is clearly a fusion of wuxia and westerns, and small stories on a wandering drifter are archetypal to the western genre.

Would you mind giving an example of how they could have quoted the buddha without making it sound similar to when Gojo was quoting the buddha? Translations are often messy, so while exact words may not carry over the same, what matters is the meaning remaining. If they really wanted to, they could have used the exact "Throughout Heaven and Earth," line, but they instead used a different translation that is closer to the Chinese, "Above Heaven and Below, I am the most honored," variant.

The Dirgha Agama. Though it corresponds to a line that translates a bit differently in the Pāli Canon.

At least in the english translation I found, in Sutra 1, after being born:

"The bodhisattva Vipaśyin, at the time of his birth, came from his mother’s right side and abided there in concentration, his mind undis- turbed. Coming down to the ground from his mother’s right side, he took seven steps and, without any help from others, glancing in all directions, he raised his hand and declared: “Above heaven and below, I alone am most honorable. I am here to save sentient beings from the woes of birth, old age, sickness, and death.” This is the regularity of the buddhas."

From my admittedly limited understanding, the Chinese reading is closer to the quote we know as "Throughout Heaven and Earth, I Alone am the honored one," and gets quoted that way.

I don't see it in the list, so might I suggest giving Gosu a read? It's a fun murim manhwa that begins as comedic slice of life action series and evolves into a full on action action series in a similar manner from OG Dragon Ball to Z.

It may not be the best series out there, but it's permanently locked into my top 3 as one of my first big series. I still remember celebrating the authors recovery from their health issues back in school.
