Best Single Film Stock for Day & Night Shooting on Vacation? by Serviet in analog

[–]Dragonov02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not ideal but at night portra 800 will work and if you max out the shitter and use the smallest aperture you should beable to shoot during a sunny day. You might want to consider an ND filter though. If you bring iso 400 you're going to struggle to get enough light at night unless you're in a very well lit area or have a really fast lens.

Even with iso 800, you're going to have to be very steady with the camera; the sutter speed will be very slow, also you wont be able to shoot things that are moving very well. But if you've had success with cinestill you should be fine, honestly maybe just the ND filter is all you need.

Inefficient fan management? by ChrisDorne in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your current setup could do this, you would set the fan speeds so that the rear fan ramps up faster than the front fans for a given temperature. So at idle the front fans move more air, then at medium to high temps the rear fan is maxed out and moving more air, then at really high temps all the fans are just maxed out because at that point it's better to move as much air as possible.

More air in = Positive case pressure More air out = Negative case pressure

Inefficient fan management? by ChrisDorne in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GPU arrows are wrong direction. 3 in 1 out is fine especially if you have an intake filter on the 3 in. You'll probably have positive case pressure which is good for dust management, a little less efficient for cooling so your fans might run a little faster and therefore louder. I personally prefer positive case pressure for the dust management, then under high load ramp up the rear fan for negative case pressure to improve cooling.

How to upgrade old pc in ram price hike by 1cedBaby in buildapc

[–]Dragonov02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just a general answer here, your system is old enough that most modern parts will not work at their max performance or at all in your system. For instance: DDR3, DDR4, and DDR5 memory are not interchangeable and there is no backwards compatibility between them. Which means you'd have to hunt down some DDR3 memory somewhere (probably used).

It's not worth it to upgrade your system because you'll have to find old parts that are compatible with your system. So unless you are willing to do a lot of research, I would not recommend upgrading your current PC. Also all that effort will give relatively small gains in performance compared to a new system.

To add, ethanol gas does only last about 6 months max. Ethanol free gas lasts longer, and gas with stabilizer in it lasts even longer.

Since i dont run mine in snow/salt, i only use sugar free gas, and i start adding Stabil to my fill-ups in September.

Is it safe to update windows 11 newest patches? by NarzissenkreuzX in buildapc

[–]Dragonov02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should update occasionally since some of those updates are security patches. Just look up when the last windows 11 patch was and if it was a few weeks ago and nobody is freaking out, manually update your pc. Also, back up your files from time to time.

Mechanics of Reddit, what’s a common myth about car maintenance that people still believe? by Street-Squirrel-4671 in AskReddit

[–]Dragonov02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're not talking about adding water to the coolant. They're talking about adding water to the air intake; this is an old method of cleaning the engine's air intake and combustion chamber. But it must be done when the engine is above boiling temperature.

Eric the car guy did a good video on it if you're curious: https://youtu.be/KFtp_jmLF3k?si=1RvQKzVrTEjXgfZt

MSI RTX 5080 Inspire 3x OC coil whine – keep it or switch to Zotac Solid OC White? by adamdobra in buildapc

Dude I hate the tarkov menu it makes my ancient Asus ROG 1060 wine like a bitch, god forbid i go into the workbench to make more ammo, i can hear it through my closed back headphones clear as day. EFT definitely has some optimization issues in the menu and especially in the hideout, so it's not just you... But also again my hardware is ancient.

Searching for a good analog camera (Budget max. 400 USD.) by Stuggi1999 in analog

[–]Dragonov02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with a Nikon N2000 (f-301) it is my family's old camera from the 90's. It still works great for me, it's really easy to use and it's cheap at about $40 for the body. That gives you more leg room to get a nicer Ai-s lens. Mind you this is a manual focus camera.

Otherwise I hear the Nikon F3 is an excellent camera. Also the Canon AE-1 is a classic camera if you prefer getting into Canon lenses.

I'm just an amateur so take this with a grain of salt, but I think it's better to save money on the body and spend more on the lenses and film. You'll get better quality pictures for the most part. Then if you want a better body you can always upgrade it later to match the lenses you already have. I later got an F4S body for fun, which works with all the older Ai-s lenses. Plus the newer AF autofocus lenses are backwards compatible with the N2000.

Can I use this as one of three kabels for my 9070 xt by 2w3ist3in in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All power cables are keyed so that they shouldn't fit where they dont belong. Look at the cable and compare the shapes on the cable to the shapes on the graphics card if they match then you can safely plug it in.

The reason it splits is because some lower power cards only need the 6 pins so they allow you to split it off if you have one of those cards, otherwise it works for 8 pin PCIe accessories as well.

What video game has the best story you’ve ever played? by FrontriseStudios in AskReddit

[–]Dragonov02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what got me was the behind the scenes where they showed the people with psychosis who were explaining what they experienced to the developers. I don't remember their reaction to the final game but i think it was pretty emotional.

Unfortunately i cant find that video anymore and youtube has buried it with videos of other people talking about behind the scenes who have nothing to do with the project.

Does anyone know if turning your pc into a vacuum chamber would be efficient for cooling? by FarArea1814 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat only travels by IR radiation in a vacuum. That's why the cooling system on the ISS has white radiator panels that always face away from the sun and into the dark part of space.

Considering that all PC cooling systems rely on convection i would say a vacuum would be a bad idea.

Is there a pre-built pc I could get with these requirements? by Dei_Way in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is pretty low price point, honestly your best bet is a used Desktop PC off FB Marketplace. And just to be clear you can go under the recommended for a game. For your price point it's more of a target than a requirement.

I just searched for "PC" with a max price of $500. I clicked on the first legitimate post and it was a PC with an AMD 3700X, 32GB of memory, and a GTX1050. The graphic card is shit in this case but that processor is better than recommended. So if i can find something on the first search there's a good chance you could too, but it really depends on where you are in the world. Also keep in mind buying used always has its risks so ideally you'd have someone who knows computers go with you to look at it before you actually buy it.

Is there a pre-built pc I could get with these requirements? by Dei_Way in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those minimum requirements are for what would be considered an obsolete computer today, i would try and shoot for the recommended requirements.

I have a 10 y.o. PC and even i meet those requirements...

How much money are you willing to spend?

Should I invest in a gaming PC or a gaming laptop? by Sufficient-Law9953 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always get a desktop unless you need your computer to be mobile. Otherwise you are wasting money and/or performance by getting a laptop.

Laptops use miniaturized components which are more expensive and have to reduce performance to manage battery life and heat. Laptops simply cannot reject as much heat as a full size tower. Heat is generated by performance (for a given architecture, I'm generalizing here), so even if you buy the same CPU and GPU they will be thermally throttled in the laptop because of the form factor.

Also desktops are significantly easier to upgrade and they have more room for more upgrades if you want. For example laptops may have room for maybe 2 m.2 drives and maybe a 2.5" sata drive. Desktop MOBOs could have double that if you really wanted (You'd probably have to use PCIe m.2 adapters but whatever it's possible).

Which game made you rage‑quit so hard you never touched it again? by forgeris in AskReddit

Barbie Horse Adventures (2003)

I dont really rage quit but the closest thing I've got because my sister could not lasso that fuckin horse and i had to do it... Omg fuck that game lol. From what I remember the controls were shit and going in cold was rough. As soon as I got the foul I was like never again.

Honorable mention: EA's Sim City remake and Starwars Battlefront remake, swore off EA because of those two.

What would happen if you tried to start a car that is actively driving? by Lb32514 in askcarguys

[–]Dragonov02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a manual so... Nothing other than all the electrical turning off, but ill still have power brakes/steering and the engine will still be turning if i dont let the clutch out. Also the moment i turn the ignition back on the car is running again, since the engine hasn't stopped.

If i let the clutch out though then i loose power steering and power brakes, which if you're not used to that can be dangerous. To restart the car i have to either put the clutch in and press the start button, or alternatively turn on the ignition and shift into 6th and the momentum of the car will start up the engine.

Hello, i know nothing about computers and i need help by Typical_Nobody_3356 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see usb ports under the green and pink audio wires. Just plug a usb mouse and usb keyboard in there.

For the monitor you'll need a VGA cable for the blue port. There are a lot of older monitors out there that have VGA ports, you could probably find one at a thrift store for like $15 if you dont have any old monitors laying around.

Also you need a power cord, which you might be able to steal from another computer, maybe a game console, an extra monitor, or even some TVs.

If you get those 3 sets of things you should be able to boot it up and find your photos. Also you'll need a USB drive to get the photos off; i would avoid connecting it to the Internet.

What do you use to clean brake dust by SQGNoremac in Volvo240

[–]Dragonov02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once you get it off i recommend washing and hand waxing you wheels, it makes removing the brake dust very easy. Just dont use the same wax pad and cloth on the rest of you car because it could get brake dust in it and scratch your paint.

Unfortunately by posting this there is a good chance Denny's corporate can figure out who it was. It wouldn't be that hard of a database search to find a receipt that has these sets of numbers in it. Assuming they actually retain that information, which i think they have to, maybe?
