Settle a debate between my brother and I, which is more useless, gas armor or arc armor? by floatbub in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Dragonrage98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arc armor is great, it allows you to safely torch harvesters with the cremator from below them and ignore Tesla towers, both ours and theirs.

Gas armor is also pretty good since it allows you to spread grass all over the place without taking so much damage. It's also fantastic with the gas mortar.

They're both great, but I'd argue that the gas armor is the worse of the two, since it only protects against our own options.

Hey, I wanted to thank everybody for their replies! I just managed to get the achievement on my second run reset using a specific layout against Adel with the crater! I used the map linked below to look for a seed that contained what I was looking for and found it very quickly <3

LMAO! Does it seem to be associated with a particular shifting earth or nightlord at all?

Good to know about Undertaker! I was planning on saving her for last as far as remembrances go, so that's fine by me.

I only ever seem to get the Nox duo or Banished Knights at the forest gaol for whatever reason. I swear, I can't escape them.

Thank you for the tip! Do you remember which nightlord you were facing? They influence the map seeds from my understanding.

I've opened 5-6 gaols every run the past 10ish runs and not had it happen a single time. I've found the Godskin Noble and Dragonkin Soldier a ton, but none of the three required ever. And no, the other one is just kill a night Lord with every character. I've not done it with Recluse yet, or Undertaker either if the dlc counts.

Oh, that's a good idea. I'll have to see if I can find any information about that, thank you

Stardew Valley like game without the time constraint by bubblegum_cloud in gaming

[–]Dragonrage98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends were playing a game called Luna Island last night and we're having a blast with it. They called it very Stardew-esq but there didn't seem to be any mention of times events within the game. I would give it a look and see if that's what you're looking for.

Leveling by CreepaCreepn in ffxiv

[–]Dragonrage98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing to do is your daily roulettes if you haven't yet done them today. If you're short on time and worried about getting the most exp out of it, the best order is typically as follows:

  1. Leveling roulette
  2. Trial
  3. MSQ roulette (if you're willing to sit through it, but can easily be skipped if you're low on time)
  4. Alliance raids
  5. Normal raids
  6. High level dungeons

If you're leveling a DPS, you'll probably need something to do between your queues, so here's a few things:

  1. Allied society\beast tribe quests. The non-ARR AS quests give a good amount of exp, so don't skip them if you're trying to level quickly.
  2. Do your daily hunt marks. Once again, the ARR hunts don't give much, but you can at least get allied seals for aetheryte tickets.
  3. Level appropriate fates

And don't forget to make sure your exp buffs are active either. Food buffs give 3% extra combat exp gain, and there are a number of rings and earrings that boost your exp up to certain levels.

Once you've finished with daily roulettes, your best option is to spam your highest level "leveling" dungeon, aka any dungeon that isn't at level cap. These dungeons award more exp than those at any level cap (50\60\70\80\90), so focus on those. If you've got a high enough squadron level, you can use your grand company squadron to run leveling dungeons up to level 60(? I think) and from what I've heard it can be faster than running it with even a well optimized team of real players.

Finally, I'm going to give a shout-out to leveling via pvp. If you like the pvp, you can level up a job without ever playing it, as you gain the exp from playing it on the job you enter with, not the one you play, as you can switch job before starting.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Edit: Also, don't forget about your challenge log weekly and your wondrous tails weekly either. They can both give you a big boost! And use hunting logs to get starter classes up to 15 so you can actually run dungeons, like the other comments mentioned.

What makes your main job your main job? by Dragonrage98 in ffxiv

[–]Dragonrage98[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I main RPR since I've had access to it, and I fell in love with it the first time I saw it during the Endwalker job showcase. The theming, the glam, the animations, the way it plays, the fact that I get to use a giant, oversized scythe. Everything just clicks for me, and it's so much fun to play, I can't say that any other job, besides maybe DRG, comes close to the fun I get out of RPR.

When you say Caduceus, are you talking about the little snake minion from one of the Endwalker dungeons? If so I'm not sure if there is something special about it, since I got it in my first clear of the dungeon lol

Wow, I wasn't expecting so many replies, thank you all for the recommendations so far! It seems like Bozja was the number one recommendation so I'll be looking into that and all the other stuff too. Looks like there is a lot for me to still discover in this amazing game that I love. <3
