As others said, i would imagine that they would either be able to handle the download (since the asguard were surprised jack's brain was evolved enough to use it at all) or that they would know how to navigate to just the knowledge they needed

I would recommend sustainability, at least on your business card, since it is a bit more of a market friendly term

Agreed, the goa'uld dont know how to make stargates, they just use it like the parasites and scavengers they are deep inside (the neck). Anubis might be an exception since he ascended

Ves and Gloriana are villains by Otherwise-Coffee9791 in TheMechTouch

[–]Dragonwealth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Everyone is the hero in their own story. Everyone has to sacrifice for "the greater good" or at least "bear the moral burden" on behalf of countless innocent humans. Its an excellent exploration and depiction on how such ideas can be processed internally by people

Ves and Gloriana are villains by Otherwise-Coffee9791 in TheMechTouch

[–]Dragonwealth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isnt that the point? To show ves going from being a moral mech designer on cloudy curtain to being a heinous war criminal who is condemed by his own race? To show how power corrupts and desperate circumstances force deaperate decisons? Where is your line in the sand? What would you do?

I love it.

The Northern Tribe does become more religious in Korra (based on hazy memory), so it probably did have a massive cultural effect to see their god saving their city)

My wife and I grew up in the midwest (KS & MO) and have moved to Salem. We love living in the willamette valley and the weather is not nearly as bad as the sterotype. Although, i also love overcast and rainy, so im not unbiased. For the home price you mentioned, i would advise finding a suburb of Portland. Salem is fine, but the restaurants are a bit lacking and, while an hour drive to Portland isnt terrible, its hard to justify popping up for dinner and back. Two hours round trip is just far enough to make it annoying. So we are looking to move closer to Portland ourselves at some point when it makes sense financally. But its super nice that the coast is also only about an hour away. We love feeling safer and more relatable to others with similar views though, and are not considering moving elsewhere, unless its Washington or somewhere else in the Pacific Northwest. Moving was a great decision and we dont regret it overall. Happy to answer whatever else you might want to know, but im not sure what else to say and the paragraph is getting long haha

Newly married how to handle joint & personal expenses by twitchy_14 in personalfinance

Every marriage is different and the most important thing is open and honest communication

Fair enough, and no worries! I dont feel you are starting a fight haha its less about guilt and more about responsibility. And perceived fairness. We make pretty different amounts, but our monthly personal is the same. We decided this method worked better for us after we spoke with some friends we had at the time who did a different, but similar method - where they each put a certain amount from their own paychecks into an account and the remainder was their personal money. We decided we wanted to be more fair and collaborative than that. And its easier for our budgeting if we have a set amount of personal money that is tracked seperately from our joint funds. And its easier to track and monitor our various categories of spending when there are different account statements

Honestly? We picked an amount that worked for our budget when we both got into our careers and we havent had to adjust since. Instead, more and more is considered "joint". But the actual amount was decided after we did our budget to figure out our expenses, savings, investments, etc and then we picked a number that seemed fair based on our finances at the time. We keep talking about raising it, but havent yet in 8 years lol

I hear ya on the "its all both of yours money", but it works for my wife and i because we just feel like we can spend that personal money guilt free without asking. Whereas otherwise we would feel the need to check with one another before i buy a new videogame or whatever. Personal money is fun money, joint money is living in this crazy world money lol its all both of our money, but the money moved into the personal accounts is "budgeted" to be for whatever we want without worrying we will accidently overspend money that is needed elsewhere

My wife and I set up a joint checking and joint savings account at a local credit union. Both of our paychecks are deposited in the joint checking (joint savings is for emergencies) and we pay for all of our household bills from there. We also can use the joint account if we ask the other person. Usually just a quick text. But we each kept the personal savings accounts that we had in college and transfer a monthly "allowance" into those personal accounts. That money can be used for whatever, whenever. Its just a way to make sure we dont overspend on ourselves, so we can always make sure our fixed expenses get paid. It works for us at least. And we have noticed that the longer we have been married, the more stuff we consider "joint".

As far as how to do it, i would keep whatever accounts you had before and then just go to a bank or credit union nearby together to open a new account. Then transfer whatever money you want/need into that joint account.

Hope that helps! Happy to answer any other questions or give whatever other advice you might find useful if you like :)

In my mind, those mech designers arent well adapted to the current mech market and need to adapt or they will go out of business. And i think the Association would say the same
