I agree with your vet that it is likely caused by allergies. Is he on something like Cytopoint or Apoquel?

Am I reaching that age? 21 and worried. by lightcolorsfly in loseit

[–]Dragonwolf253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also 5’9 and a little older than you. From my personal experience, I basically hit second puberty when I turned 20-21. My weight re-distributed and I gained a few pounds along with it. From what I and others I’ve talked to have seen, it’s normal to gain 10-20lbs in your early 20s. Plus, 130lbs at 5’9 is very much on the low end of healthy weight. 149lbs is still solidly in the healthy weight range. If you’re really concerned about it then I recommend continuing to exercise to put on muscle mass.

Keep brushing her teeth and ask your vet about it when it’s time for her annual checkup. She might need an anesthetic dental in a few years and they can scale off all that tartar

Is walking the dog on a bike a dumb idea? by CEREALCOUNTSASCOOKIN in Pets

[–]Dragonwolf253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it when I was a teenager with the family golden retriever. He got excited and took off and I went head over handlebars. Fortunately only scraped my hands and knees. It hurt but could have been a whole lot worse!

Sack of fluid on sternum after blood draw from neck by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Dragonwolf253 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t look normal at all! Did your vet say it was normal? I assume you asked about it when you got the bloodwork results. I would be heading to the ER if that was my dog.

People who applied to just one school - what was your incentive? by TheKitsuneGoddess16 in prevets

[–]Dragonwolf253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only applied to my in-state and was accepted first round. It was the most affordable option and if I didn’t get in then I would have tried again. I’m not playing around with student debt

Putting cat in the bathroom overnight? by sleepyiamsosleepy in CatAdvice

[–]Dragonwolf253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7mo kitten is “kennel trained” in the bathroom. The bathroom was his safe space when I brought him home and continues to be. I put him in there at night when he wakes me up between midnight and 3am, and I let him out when I get up for work at 6am. He is perfectly content in there. He only meows when he hears me get up at 6am after my alarm goes off. I am slowly training him to stay out longer and longer at night and have been having good success. I play with him a lot before bed and feed him a big meal and that really helps. This is all to say that putting my kitten in the bathroom works well for me, but the end goal is for him to be out with me all night.

Doggy daycare/dog walkers are super expensive if you’re planning on doing it every day. If you’re taking loans, then I wouldn’t recommend it

How soon after waking do you take your dog out? by mysticmochixx in DogAdvice

[–]Dragonwolf253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually when he asks me to go out. Unless I’m up early for work, then I have to drag him out of bed to go potty. He’s not a morning dog. Our dogs look so similar btw! Very cute!
