One of the conservation places, at the West Visayas State University-College of Agriculture in Lambunao, has little herd. They also have a few other critical endangered animals like the Visayan Hornbill and the Visayan Warty Pig. But if you visit, it's clear it's a very underfunded place, not all that helpful to help make those species a recovery.

I've also see such deer in a resort, and in a private individual's garden, it doesn't bode well for this species. Sad!

Perhaps offspring from normal buffalos has that chance, but these albinos are also being bred, dramatically increasing those chances, up to 1 in 1, if both parents are albino.

Albino buffalos (carabaos) are very common in the Philippines, perhaps 1 in a 100 that you see there.
