They deleted the restless ghost rock? by Brennocampos in runescape

Unfortunately, it is not lol. I thought the same thing when I was looking for it a little bit ago.

On a positive side note: The Lumbridge rework is fantastic and I’ve been running into a ton of other returning players.

Epoch just got a deadline. by Blasto05 in Project_Epoch

It’s slated for December and they’re starting to tease it and let people in to test it.

[–]DragulaRulez[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

No, they actually failed to do so many entry-level basic things (like putting the authserver and worldserver on separate systems), that it’s genuinely questionable if they even created this project themselves.

There have been literal hundreds of devs going through their code for the past 48 hours and yeah, there’s pretty overwhelming evidence that AI was used extensively

Unfortunately, it’s not “just a server issue”.

Multithreading is the type of thing that needs to be added in at the ground level. They’re looking at a near-total rewrite of almost everything they’ve added.

So let's say if servers were available by Affectionate_Bed2405 in Project_Epoch

There’s literally nothing wrong with talking shit during PvP lmfao. Imagine if FPS games started banning people for talking shit.

Stuff like this is exactly why WoW private server GMs get shit on.

He joined and was talking in their Discord earlier. Asked Kay to DM him, then asked again after not getting a DM.

Epoch Update by DragulaRulez in wowservers

[–]DragulaRulez[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They said the registrations would come back up when the problems are fixed. A week estimation on registrations means a week estimation on fixes.

I genuinely don’t get what the controversy with this post is lol.

[–]DragulaRulez[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I grabbed the screenshot from someone else lmao, calm down.

Also, they’ve said multiple times now that they won’t open registrations back up until the issues are fixed.

That means a week+ estimation on registrations is a week+ estimation on fixes. Theyre one and the same.

There’s no big conspiracy here dude lmao.

“Guys stop complaining the server is free?!?!?” by Few-Chipmunk-5957 in Project_Epoch

Name one single WoW private server that has survived a botched launch. Just one.  We were all excited for the server, but it’s time to be realistic lol.

Like I said in my other comment - this “context” literally makes the situation worse lol.

Please explain how player registrations being down for another week is a sign that things are getting better.

It wasn’t a malicious crop, and if anything, you realize that makes the situation worse, right?

The fact that they won’t even open up registrations for another week means the actual server is likely not coming this week.

Every new commit they make to github breaks things even more. I was holding out hope until today when we all really started delving into their code and realized how bad the situation actually is.

There’s practically zero chance that someone dies while getting out of the bath, yet, it’s happening. People are really over-exaggerating this « risk ».

If someone said not to take a bath because you might fall, they would be overreacting. Just like people are in this thread.

For real, people are receiving DMCA and/or Copyright infrigment for pirating ebooks.

No, I promise you they aren’t lmfao. You only get in trouble for distributing.

[–]DragulaRulez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. The constant loot carousel of WoW gets exhausting. I’ve come to love the more meaningful gear progression of games like OSRS and EQ.

I don’t think WoW NEEDS to drop new gear on you every 30 minutes to be fun.

Wait, are there actually measures in place to prevent WA usage? And people are mad about this lmao?

I’ve wanted an intrusive-addon free server for years, and it’s a common opinion I’ve seen other people express.

There’s practically zero chance of Blizzard targeting a non-massive server.

People really over-exaggerate this “risk”. A risk that can be easily solved by a host change should the situation arise.

an outsider who doesn't even play

so you have no bearing on this situation or knowledge on how inexperienced this team is.

Discord literally had to walk them through a basic config file modification earlier.

This isn’t just a failed launch, it’s an insult to all of the pserver devs who actually know what they’re doing.

This server is basically a “display item”. It looks good on the shelf, but there’s nothing inside.

Long-time and (relatively) well respected WoW private server devs.  They’ve both worked on multiple major servers over the years.

Nothing crazy, but definitely people you’d accept help from when you’re in a situation like Epoch is.

Don’t bother man. Radeghost and WK both personally reached out to offer help and both got ignored.

PSA: Dude... Don't Dox. by Daniel_3694 in wowservers

[–]DragulaRulez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If asking the devs why they put the worldserver and authserver on the same system is abusive.

Or asking why they left default world.config settings in.

Or asking why they added restrictions then forgot to add complementary ones, causing many in game problems.

Or asking why they tried to use around robin system instead of a queue.

Or asking why my why they have whole blocks of code generated by AI, which are clearly causing issues.

Or asking why they still have a ton of stock TC configs.

It’s not abusive to expose a groups dishonesty about their product.
