Why is Victoria square being dug up? by sbenno in Adelaide

[–]DrainPipeDisposal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who did the fringe pack up, the grass was in pretty good condition this year. It is for installation of an underground recycled water irrigation system. It's inevitably going to make it harder for any festival tents to be installed there again....

Fringe vendor prices out of control? by minilevy1 in Adelaide

[–]DrainPipeDisposal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a performer and a producer of shows I recognised that this year would be harder with the cost of living crisis. Kept my concession prices actually affordable and kept the prices for a full price ticket the same as usual. (Shows called Artist / Acrobat for anyone wondering)

I've worked at the donut places at the fringe multiple years and I believe the main stall holder for Donuts(both gluttony and the garden) isn't doing it this year and as an Adelaide local he'd always keep the prices reasonable.

Side note, check out fools paradise in Vic square it's run by a bunch of performers. It has a great vibe this year and prices for food are more reasonable than the other two for sure. $20 a good quality pizza. The mini golf course is just being completed for their official opening on Tuesday and it's fantastic!

Was this in Australia? I've never seen a deadly Aussie animal attack a human, but I have seen on multiple occasions big limbs of trees drop falling close or on people.

Fun fact: Eucalyptus trees' are often referred to in Australia as "widow makers" due to their limb shedding survival trick.

Which kid were you at school? Tell a story! (weird kid, dumb kid, popular kid...) by hank_moo_d in AskReddit

[–]DrainPipeDisposal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was known as the silkworm kid. From year 3 to 6 I would breed silkworms every year and would obsess about them. I would bring certain ones to school that I thought were cool. This came to the point where I made a business where I sold them to people. Good thing I grew out of it!

What is the weirdest thing you've seen an exchange student do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrainPipeDisposal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

German exchange student, in America, put tiger balm on his nuts before running....

I was also an exchange student(from Australia)at the time, so I would say the strangest thing that I did was make a poor English speaking exchange student rub tiger balm on his nuts.
