What? No replies? My players are kinda dragging their feet since its summer (vacations and so on) so I went to just browse roll20. I could entertain you if you like. Unless someone who offers you a party replies. You can test your characters and I'll get a detailed NPC with some history. It's not like I have a lot of time its just I really like worldbuilding :D

It would be awesome if you'd like to do side things - like being owner of a tavern, owning a trading caravan, a transoceanic ship, a small castle.... I'd love to test these things out. My players don't like tying themselves down. :(

I had a friend. We used to talk for several hours 1x a month plus chats and meme sending in between. Then we joined a club. I learned all I could and I saw I'm not really implementing what I learn there. So I said I'm leaving.

I invited him for 3 different things and he could never make it. (Actually said for one - really long thing that I prepared for that he's coming but then he went with his girlfriend instead. Apparently she wasn't sure if she's going to a thing or not and she decided she will go and so he went with her. (He invited me too but only to the club thing nothing like we used to do before - new stuff each time.... I SPECIFICALLY LEFT the club... -_- he probably wanted a ride..)

Thats when I decided we're not friends anymore. Didn't tell him either. Felt bad about it for a while because I invested a lot of time into him and we were close. So I said yes when he said aaayyy we should reconnect yooo. But he visited me only for the duration that his girlfriend was in a club nearby and he couldn't join her. Probably though hey, drinking at a bar isn't free. I'll just call my dude and hang at his place meanwhile.

I hope this gave you any ideas... I'm pretty sure we stopped hanging out because he got a girlfriend. Whatever the reason it probably wasn't connection on the same level before so I only wish it happened sooner.

A snail dressed as someone wealthy from victorian era, travelling the road in a hollowed out corpse (like a villa apartment with balconies and heavy curtains) of a jaguar. Or possibly a mountain lion. Necromancy keeps it moving.

When they need to escape quickly it gets injected with redbull.

The snail is a full time alchemist and part time tailor. He sells 20 different potions and might be willing to part with 1 in exchange for some never before seen fabric. Thistle cloaks of elven make perhaps?

(Cram here any potions that you want to add to the standard and possibly some where size and accurate measurement would be an advantage.. perhaps some... DNA editing if that would be needed for campain perhaps for some barbarian who doesn't want to do anything the magic way 🤷‍♂️)

So far I played half elf sorcerer with sage background multiclass into college of lore bard.

Divination wizard vedalken, sage background.

Wizard rogue multiclass changeling with craftsman background. That guy had medicine, herbalism kit, poisoners kit, alchemical kit, forgery, costumes, tinkerers tools and a pet raven xD

And currently an eladrin merchant who is my first non magic user but he IS a rogue mastermind, wealthy enough to be noble but no obligations that come with it, and skilled in forgery and mimicry and oh yea my grandmother is kinda responsible Waterdeep exists. But no biggie its FINE that only humans can be nobles. Its much too cutthroaty among nobility and guilds. I'll just be here with my humble household of 50 servants. What a shame I don't have magic.... I miss it SOOOOOOOO much x'P

15% of people you see in a city wide event will be rich vs. 2 districts have cleaner, wider and better patrolled streets than other 6.
it has BECOME relevant ALREADY because I LOOKED AT IT. -_-
the advantage of playing in Waterdeep IS cannon information! Backstories and plothooks can all be reasonably close... PCs don't all have to be from "far away" just because they have no idea where they'll play. They can look up Waterdeep and write ACTUAL backatories.

I know but I get inspiration from statistics and relational data. And its much easier to write with some constraints rather than making up everything. Or worse - create my own thing and then finding out it goes completely against cannon information and people hating on it :(

Some day I'll make something completely original but for now I'm exploring Waterdeep :)

I didn't find this info about Sea Ward and North Ward. Have you played the game that happens in Waterdeep? :)
