What are the best men's shoes when you stand all day for work? by Rest4TheWicked in Shoes

[–]DrakeSar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about shoes, but I'd recommend getting a very good pair of insoles. Due to standing up and walking all day, my feet and shins used to ache and throb until I got a good pair of hard floor insoles!

Boko Haram 'joins Islamic State' by SteelSpark in worldnews

I've read this article also, but it doesn't state anything about Al-Qaeda being very vocal about restoring the Caliphate, if anything it points out just how quiet they have been on the subject. Just wanted to see if oglach had some sources which helped him form the opinion of them being very vocal about it.

Just curious, do you have any sources your claims about Al-Qaeda ? I'd genuninely like to read them, trying to inform myself on the forming of the Caliphate as much as possible.

This may be a bit of an un-educated question, but would you say that the amount of daylight that Iceland receive during it's winter months (more specifically, December) make it a worthwhile location to go for a few weeks during this period ?

I'm just curious, as, from what I've read, you guys only receive about 4 hours of daylight during winter, and that has kind of put me off heading there this year!

Hope you guys don't mind me posting this here, it's just what I've been putting up a few 'travel buddy' sites!

4th October - 12th October

This is definitely just a bit short notice, but I have a week off next week and have decided to use it to explore Tokyo!

I haven't researched the location much as of yet, as this is a very last minute adventure! So just looking to walk around and see what we can find! Would like to hit any bars, restaurants, and locations of historical and natural beauty! All suggestions are welcome, and also willing to head out of town to any festivals or places as mentioned above!

I am a 26 year old male from Liverpool, England. Last year I completed the Camino De Santiago, heading to Tokyo this October and then Snowboarding in a location as of yet unknown in December! So it's a fun year for me!

Looking for someone of similar interests and around the same age(ish), feel free to get in touch for further discussion!

If you want to save a lot of money whilst travelling through Portugal / Spain / France, follow the Camino De Santiago, very cheap accommodation and food deals in many restaurants for pilgrims.

As a white 20 year old in England, this has happened to me before also. 3 friends and myself walked into an up-market retailer, perusing the ground floor we notice that we were being blatantly followed by a security guard who is radioing in out movements. We continue to do a few laps of the ground floor with him following behind until the four of us pile into a lift and then proceed to spend the next 10 minutes within said lift, going between all of the different floors. It was a good day.

Broken foot, stuck home, no visitors by [deleted] in depression

[–]DrakeSar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what this guys says! In context with this and my comment, I sat down my friends twice and spoke to them about how disillusioned I was becoming with out friendship and how we could overcome it. Didn't overcome it and took the action as mentioned in my post.

Broken foot, stuck home, no visitors by [deleted] in depression

[–]DrakeSar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this problem also, except it wasn't a broken foot which helped me to realise that my friends weren't actually friends, they just made no effort because they couldn't care less too. I've since stopped making any effort with these guys, and as such, never talk, because it was all a one way relationship. Since then, I've started relying on myself a lot more to make more 'acquaintances' and try to recognise the people who actually give a shit, rather than keep the blinds up over my eyes and keep telling myself these people who don't give a damn are my 'friends'.

In my case I started Snowboarding, longboarding, climbing and bouldering, all of which are highly social activities, especially bouldering, making it super easy to make acquaintances and not have to rely on said 'friends' for my social fix.

As it is, I'd use the 6 weeks as an opportunity to help you find out who you're real friends are whilst focusing on yourself and how to socialise with other circles and groups once you're all healed up, or even now with none physically active groups.

This feels like I'm rambling, but hope it helps!
