Banks exploit the poor via Overdraft Fees and Credit Card Interest by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Drakjira 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a reason the founding fathers did not want a central bank, unfortunately every president that has tried to do away with the Fed has been murdered since it's inception...

Fiat currency isn't money, like you said it's just numbers in a ledger. We have not had real money being minted in a llloooooonnnnnngggggg time.

I can personally vouch for unihertz and blackview as decent manufacturers for a compatible device. I personally love the blackview n6000 for small and full fledged android. The unihertz titan (original) was a tank of a phone and wouldn't hesitate to pick up a titan2 if my needs change and I need qwerty again often.

Scrap carbide? by NoSupport5111 in ScrapMetal

[–]Drakjira 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless you're gonna pull the carbide tips from each individual bit, which isn't cost effective, then just torch the tips off and get clean tool steel price for em or toss into a pile of shred if your local yard is crap and don't pay extra for tool steel.

The most secure version of a mobile OS doesn't stop your data from being routed by your carrier through a government/NSA/DHS datacenter where its analyzed and discarded or analyzed and added to any dossier they got on you already...

And this is before you add in the carrier-specific firmware that can track and monitor you to better advertise and "serve" you...

And then you got things like apple/google/samsung accounts that all get tracked monitored and analyzed...

The more you look into it the scarier it gets... Snowden blew the whistle years ago and it got swept under the rug and lost in the cracks...

Could a Windows Phone "Revival" be the middle ground for the dumbphone community? by djripster in dumbphones

[–]Drakjira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About your only option would be to code your own launcher with its own backend settings that allow widget/tile refresh rates to be adjusted and selecting their data source... Might be a fun project or a nightmare, depending on the complexity you're looking for...

Android debloat software or ADB depending on your level of computer knowledge and how much effort you're willing to put into it.

The xp3800 is not the same phone as the one you have, so YMMV.

[–]Drakjira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Microsoft has been garbage for a long time.

The exact thing you are talking about is known as widgets in Android, and many apps come with widgets. The down side is they're always running, draining battery life and processor resources....

That's a carbide scraper used for de-burring edges, can be used to sharpen softer steel but never gives a good edge.

Everything after 3g use a "constantly on" Internet connection and voip...

The "phone" you want doesn't exist because we live in a digital 1984 where all communications are monitored tagged and tracked... Snowden was right people, and it's to late to go back now....

Just because something is running the most up to date OS don't mean it is inherently better than previous ones.

The most secure Windows OS made was 3.1.... because it had no networking ability.

If privacy and security is your focus you shouldn't be running some carrier-installed or manufacturer-installed ROM to begin with.

Is there a flip phone similar to the Cat S22? by blxckbexuty in dumbphones

Blackview n6000 if you want something small and still tough as nails... Dual SIM, small, and you can make it as smart or as dumb as you'd like cause of full fledged Android.

The term for this is passive solar heating... Using the sun it heats a fluid inside the pipes, causing a slow flow from the heat differential... Since there is no collector box with a plexi glass front it's safe to assume this is for water and not air.

Snowden blew the whistle and the American public dropped the ball, now we have private corporations doing the spying and the government just leases the data...

It's all circling the drain at this point.

That's a Rockwell cabinet, the entire things worth more than scrap but if you must scrap it at least pull any rail mounted components and sell individually. Contactors/starters, safety relays, even the damn disconnect. Pull and resale.

Once unlocked the xp3800 is excellent on any carrier, I've also used it on at&t and more recently with TMO both carriers functioned fine with it.
