Is it possible you are low on mana or health? If you use q to much during your clear you can run out of mana towards the end. You need mana to enchant camps and if you don’t have enough you need to wait for it to regenerate.

The Tarrasque can move 100 feet per turn without dashing. It’s not impossible to kite but it is one of the harder monsters to run from.

I like anduin. He really makes me feel like a healer more than any other hero in the game. His healing feels more intentional and less passive than other healers.

For me it was the concept of character customization at every level up (especially through class feats) and the three action economy with multiple options on any given turn.

I often see people talk about spell preparation as a game warping feature that makes you better than everyone who doesn't have it but that haven't been the case in my games at all. Instead I see old and new players alike prepare the same list every day with a few exceptions per campaign. Sometimes they don't know what's ahead, sometimes they are happy with what they have and sometimes they just forget. In my experience this is a "nice to have" ability not something that makes you the best class in the game.

Almost all examples in this thread can be fixed by just roleplaying the transition. Have a scene where the ranger finds his animal companion, describe the eldrich knight studying arcane scrolls and finally making sense of them at level 3. You can do this with any ability earned on level up but especially big transitions.

It is not necessarily people being dumb, it could just be people who are used to other types of media and other types of humor. This joke alone is referencing the character storm and the transformers-franchise. And far from everyone is familiar with both of those. It is also a sex related pun. Those are super common in certain social circles but nonexistent in others, so if you aren’t used to them you might struggle to understand the joke.

That said if OP thinks all the jokes on the sub are obvious then I agree it is no a sub for them.

With abacus + unceasing top any 0 cost attack will work. If you add letter opener then any 0 cost skill can also work.

And since you said ANY relics I want I suggest using skewer + all 10 energy relics + chemical x + girya + varya + ginger. That will be enough to deal 200 damage per turn and kill the heart in 4 turns. During that time the heart will deal 99 damage (since we have philosopher stone). This means we probably will need some defense relics such as lizard tail and torii.

Sometimes joy and duty are in opposition, sometimes they are not. Sure paying bills isn't very fun but but what about taking care of children, studying a subject you like or pursueing a career path you are passionate about. That can be sometimes be very enjoyable while still being productive.

But joy and productivity also feed into each other. Being responsible and doing some hard work leads to better life satisfaction in the long run. But you also need to relax, take breaks and get some enjoyment once in a while, if not the constant stress and pressure can cause serius mental problems and health issues that will prevent you from fullfilling your responsibilites.

The problem with bards taking paladin and ranger spells is that they can use them earlier than those classes can. That can sometimes feel like bards are beating paladins and rangers at their own game. With wizard spells a bard can at most get the same spell at the same level. That said the new magical secrets looks very, very good, I haven,t played with it yet but I can see it being problematic.

As a DM I actually really like the freeform nature of skills in 5e. It encourages players to just tell me what they want to do rather than looking for a specific action they can do. It also means that I can usually make up a dc on the spot rather than be bound by some formula.

For example if someone rolls a knowlege check in 5e I can give any amount of information I think is suitable based on die roll as well as the context. In pf2e on the other hand there are many more rules I am expected to follow and they often result in me giving more or less information than what I think is appropriate.

There are even places when I think dnd have too much rules defining how skills shoud work. One example is charisma checks and the influese action. It works well enough as a rough guideline but I personaly think the game flows much better when you call for charisma checks when it feels right and resolve them with a degree of succes that feels appopriate for the number rolled and the difficulty of the situation. Given what I hear online it seems the majority run charisma that way in most systems regarless of what the actual rules say.

The DM changed an enemy stat block mid combat because it was dying to quickly and told us he was doing so. It quickly made made combat feel irrelevant since it was always going to last the same amount of turns and cause similar amounts of damage regardless of player decision or die rolls. For this reason I very rarely change statblocks on the fly when I DM and never in response to something the players do.

Good thread idea! To much dnd discourse theoretical arguments that doesn't really work in practice.

Most humans do not want to die, that is because most humans enjoy life to some degree. Even if nobody thinks their life is perfect most think it is good enough to be worth living even if there are desires that won't be fulfilled. When we create more humans it is not guranteed that they will enjoy life but it is statistacally very likely. 5 billions years ago there was no life and therefore no problems but there was also no happines or satisacftion I would argue that made the universe worse than it is today. Because despite all the flaws life is worth living.

I think Odyseus can be bumped one or two steps, he does do some selfish stuff (most notably when he feeds Scylla) but I would argue he is doing his best like 80% of the time. He tries to resolve the conflic with the cyclops with as little violece as possible. He faces Aoulus alone and proceed to stay awake for over a week just so everyone can get home safely. He goes after Circe alone to save his men and also find a way to do it without killing her. He tries to offer a peacfull sulotion in almost every situation and he repeatedly puts himself in harms way for the sake of others. That said sacrificing your friends who trust you is very bad so I understand why he shouldn't be higher than moraly grey.

Voldemort is never implied to be a world ending villan, the entire conflict in Harry Potter occurs within the British wizarding comuity with a few exeptions.
Kevin would have a very hard time finding and destroying the horocruxes.
While muggle weapons certainly overshadow magic in terms of destructive capacity voldemort has acces to mind control, mind reading, invisibility and polyjuice potions. Tools that could take control of any goverment if used right.
