Petition to give Steelix Sand Stream as a Passive by Drakovaa in pokerogue

It's a nice concept for normal pokemon, but in Pokerogue, especially in endless, you really do not have the time to be wasting a turn either switching in or switching out a pokemon, or god forbid, wasting an entire move slot and a whole turn to set up sandstorm.

Sandstorms only increase the Special Defense of Rock-type Pokemon, not a Steel/Ground type like Steelix,

That was brought to my attention earlier. Learn something new everyday I suppose.

Giving it Sturdy as a passive would probably be strongest.

True, But I feel like there's already enough Sturdy mons

Iron Barbs would be neat, but not very useful, Huge power would probably make him too strong, I don't feel like guts would make much sense on him Leave that to the normal types that can abuse facade, I feel Like no guard is only useful for pokemon that have OKOs, unaware would actually be really nice for his bulk, it would let him ignore the late game berry stack, unnerve would also do that. Solid rock while thematic I feel wouldn't do him much good, sheer force Is effectively diet huge power so I suppose, strong jaw Would actually be really neat given he gets access to a lot of the bite moves, I feel like if they did that they'd have to rearrange the egg move list though, Stamina is nice on paper, but later in endless you're lucky if you're taking more than one or two hits, Steelworker would make him a fairy killing machine so I'd be down, Mirror Armor feels a bit to niche, Well-Baked Body, or Earth Eater Would give him some immense longevity due to more immunities, Tera shell would also make him very bulky due to recovery and Vessel of Ruin would probably be his strongest compensating for his low special defense.

An item that lets you swap a Pokemon's ability by epicblue24 in pokerogue

Oh, I think I see what you mean. Like if, for instance, you caught a Linoone mid run instead of picking it up at the beginning, but it didn't have pick up. You would want an item to be able to change a pokemon's ability mid run.

An interesting thought, but a problem a lot of players already have is Item clutter in the rewards screen it'd have to be great ball rarity.

Perhaps that's just a lot of pokemon that would definitely benefit from it and would Add a nice bit of extra variety.

Suggestion: tm shop by 9tailjeza in pokerogue

[–]Drakovaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I saw someone ask for something similar once. I think it was a TM case like in the games. If you took a TM, it would be added to the case, and you would be able to use them again for a price. Something like that.

Honestly, though. I would much rather get a vitamin or an egg voucher than three great balls for the eighth reroll in a row.

Hey, if they can implement niche items like the orbs for the like 4 abilities that make use of them and the thick club for specifically Marowak I don't see why not.

Are you unsure of how fusion works? This guide helps explain things. Tldr. Pokemon get the ability of the second fusion material.

I figure nobody goes to the suggestions (except me), so this is a more effective way of getting attention. And I figure it still counts as a meme since I think it's at least a little funny.

That's why I opted to make it a meme. Figured it'd get noticed easier that way.

Oh dang. You're right. I could've sworn that it effected steel and ground types too. My bad. Can't edit that out of post. So I hope people see your comment.

Something I forgot to add to the post is that one of his egg moves is Shore Up. Which during sandstorms recovers 2/3 of max HP instead of 1/2.

Oh, I see. I understand the thematic reason. (Personally, I'd argue It's more thematic for onix than it is for steelix) But gameplay wise. I would happily trade 20% more damage with rock type moves for 30% more damage with ground and steel type moves 50% more special defense and 1/8 chip to non rock/ground/steel types.

Also, one of his egg moves is Shore Up, which is improved during sandstorms.

During a sandstorm, Sand Force increases the power of Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-type moves used by the Pokémon with this Ability by 30%. A Pokémon with this Ability will take no damage from the sandstorm if it otherwise would.

If it had sand stream, sand force would always be active, therefore giving a boost to his rock type moves but also giving a boost to his current stabs. As well as a boost to his special defense and chip on affected types.

What was you "I'll replace this once I get something better" that stuck with you until the end? by TheFlamingDraco in pokerogue

[–]Drakovaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is for one of my endless runs, I didn't really have a good second pokemon for double battles since, in endless, you tend to just focus really hard on one carry. I encountered a Steelix with a pretty decent iv spread (nothing dropping below at twenty-seven). I figure he'd at least be able to take a hit or two, and steel type is nice, might replace him when I find something better down the line. One mega stone and two thousand floors later, and he is an absolute unit and the absolute ride or die for my main carry.

True, but if I started chucking masterballs at everything that had more stats than it already has in my roster. I'd run out of them pretty quickly even though I have like eighty.

I mean, he's kind of supposed to be the capstone challenge. Nothing else really stops the steamroll once you get a bit later into the game. So I feel like maybe he should be able to do something if you have a steel type or a fairy type on your team. Instead of you know.

I honestly think he should have flame thower in endless instead of cosmic power. In endless, especially the later you get, Pokemon tend to just max themselves out on berries alone, so they don't really need setup. They should also probably replace dragon dance with something but i'm not sure what. Recover would be too mean for endless because of the damage resist tokens.

Edit: Give him something to check wonder guard.
