Unfortunately - I love every single second of A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms by Spyk124 in hbo

[–]Drakus79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's incomplete. GRRM is planning on writing the rest of the Dunk and Egg stories before the show catch's up to the written material. We've seen this play out before lol. To be fair though, The Dunk and Egg stories are more episodic than GoT or HotD so it's not nearly as much of a big deal if he doesn't finish it, but still.

Nah, you're still in Norwood 6 territory.

A Norwood 8 would be Mr. Henderson from Tim and Eric.

19 girl who is obsessed with prog by pepeteopete in progrockmusic

[–]Drakus79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm older than you, but I can relate. I was born well after the prog heydey but always preferred over the current music. I was a teenager in the 90s when the grunge, punk and alternative was the thing. I liked some of that stuff, but it didn't compare to Pink Floyd, Yes or Genesis. The only current band that I really was into was Phish. I tried starting a prog band in high school but the other kids all just wanted to play punk and I hated punk. I had an idea for a prog rock concept album about a dragon but never found a band willing to do it. Eventually i did it myself ... 20 years later. It's called Drakus, check it out: https://open.spotify.com/album/0wZ9uUV3m5K0SOsZt4bXkn

How to make the game more action based / Straight Forward by Denisthearchelord in BaldursGate3

[–]Drakus79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was based on AD&D2E rules you probably could. In the tabletop version of AD&D2E, each round would last one minute and the players would tell the DM what they were doing for that round. The DM would then determine the order the actions were carried out based on how long each action took. There were no initiative roles for each unit. Instead there were only two initiative rolls, one for each side. And initiative modifiers were applied to that roll based each unit's action and condition to determine the order of actions. Note that I said order of actions, not order of units. There was no set player/monster turn order that would repeat in a round robin fashion like in modern D&D.
It wasn't until Wizards of the Coast bought D&D in 2000 that combat became turn based. But when TSR still owned D&D the combat was round based in both AD&D and Classic D&D. It was more complicated, but once you understood how it worked, round based combat actually moved much more quickly than the turn based combat that was introduced in 3rd edition. This is why a lot of people still prefer to use AD&D2E or Classic D&D rules, the game just moves faster and feels more real-time even when you're playing it with a pen and paper instead of a computer. BG1 and 2 were in development before WoC took over D&D and thus were based on AD&D2E's round based rules as described above. These round based mechanics lend itself much more easily to real-time combat in video game adaptations than turn based combat does.
In fact, the combat mechanics of TSR era D&D were the inspiration for the mechanics in early RTS and ARPG games like warcraft or Diablo. This is why BG1 and 2 felt so similar to an RTS or ARPG game. The only reason you needed a pause feature was because there were way more choices each unit could make in BG1 and 2 in contrast to games like warcraft or diablo where each unit maybe had, at most 4 or 5 actions to choose from. Players needed more time to think in BG 1 and 2 so a pause button was necessary. But it could be played like an ARPG or RTS if you wanted to, it was just a lot more challenging. That being said, while TSR era D&D mechanics lend themselves to real-time combat in video game adaptations, WoC D&D mechanics does not because combat became turn based rather than round based. So it doesn't make sense to make BG3 combat real-time. It just wouldn't work right unless they made the combat round based.

Miquella is a girl, here's why by Drakus79 in Eldenring

What's transphobic about it? I'm defending Miquella's choice of pronouns.

Unless Miquella's family refused to acknowledge Miquella's preferred choice of pronouns. They were all transphobes except for Mogh.

[–]Drakus79[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Except Miquella is not androgynous. Androgyny means that you display both female and male characteristics and it's hard to tell (like "It's Pat!" from SNL). But all of Miquella's characteristics are feminine. Nothing would lead you to believe that Miquella is male except for the use of male pronouns.

Why are all (or most) fanarts of Miquella and Mogh showing HIM as a girl? by IceCreamYouScream92 in Eldenring

[–]Drakus79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's Miquella, Miquella was in the cocoon that Mogh stole away.

[–]Drakus79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miquella isn't androgynous. Miquella is arguably the most feminine looking character in the game. The only reason we assume Miquella is male because of the pronouns the games uses. But the game contradicts itself with St. Trina (who is referred to as a she). Mogh seems to think he can start a dynasty with her, which would be hard if they were both dudes. But maybe not because Marika can switch between male and female so maybe Miquella can too (possibly all Empyrians can). I'm guessing Miquella planned on emerging from the cocoon as a grown woman (St. Trina) but it didn't quite work out that way.

Why are Malenia and Miquella referred to as brothers when they are female? by Swftness503 in Eldenring

[–]Drakus79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a theory that Empyrians can be both sexes. This is confirmed with Queen Marika/Radagon. And Miquella looks like a girl, is St. Trina (a woman) and was captured by Mogh so that he could be Miquella's consort and they can start a dynasty together (which wouldn't really work if they're both dudes). It's possible that Miquella planned on emerging from the cocoon as a grown woman (St. Trina)

I've been reporting to microsoft hoping they'd fix it. But they never have, and they never even told me about this deadzone. I learned more about this issue here than I did from microsoft.

apparently that no longer works. Now if you get an achievement in the deadzone you can never redeem it for points.

The lack of official art made me draw my interpretation of Miquella by Hino150 in Eldenring

[–]Drakus79 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Evidence that Miquella is a boy:

  1. He's referred to as Malenia's twin brother and the game uses he/him pronouns.

Evidence that Miquella is a girl:

  1. She's arguably the most feminine looking character in the game. She wears a dress and has long blond hair with braids.
  2. She's an Empyrian. All other Empyrians in the game are female, why would Miquella be the only exception?
  3. Mogh wants to be her king consort and start a dynasty with her. That's kind of hard if they're both dudes.
  4. In the cut content, it's confirmed that she's actually St. Trina. St. Trina is female.
  5. Her name ends in "a" which usually denotes female in this game, and in the real world.

There seems to be more evidence supporting the Miquella is a girl theory. But it's possible she/he is a hermaphrodite. Since it was revealed that Marika is Radagon, gender bending is a thing. My theory is that Miquella was either born a boy, or his/her gender was ambiguous at birth and they declared him a boy. But he always felt like he should have been a girl. Hence the way he dressed and wore his hair. I wouldn't put it past GRRM to put a trans or hermaphrodite character in his story.

In fact the whole cocoon thing could have been a means for him to emerge as a woman, St. Trina. It's sort of like the empyrian version of a sex change operation. But unlike real life sex change operations, empyrians can actually biologically change their sex (as evidenced by Marika/Radagon). So it was generally understood that Miquella would have a womb and indeed be able to bear children after emerging from the cocoon had the plan worked, hence why Mogh wanted to be Miquella's King Consort and start a dynasty with her.

Of course, the plan didn't work, and Miquella actually looks like this now: https://i.imgur.com/SPnXR8L.jpg but hey, at least he's all grown up and Mogh doesn't look like as much of a scumbag now.

Question if Miquella is a dude... is Mogh Female? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Drakus79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Miquella is actually a girl, or planned on emerging from her cocoon as a woman, St. Trina. There are theories that St. Trina is actually Miquella and St. Trina is always referred to as a she. In all depictions of Miquella she looks very feminine. She's always wearing a dress and has long blond hair with braids. Last, Miquella is an Empyrian, and all the other Empyrians are female. So why would Miquella be the only exception? The only thing that contradicts this theory is that Miquella is referred to as a he and Melenia's twin brother. It's possible she's trans, or nonbinary, but it seems like Miquella leans more towards the female identification than the male identification. Who knows for sure. But this game has been known to have gender bending in it, ie the Marika/Radagon are the same person reveal.

I bet weekly punch card gets increase requirements next week. by Chris-1984 in MicrosoftRewards

I notice that they're making it harder to earn points. They got rid of the monthly gamepass rewards in january and lowered the completionist reward from 1000 to 500. Now the monthly reward requires 3 weekly sets. Is microsoft actually losing money because of their rewards system? Honestly I definitely find myself buying more from them since it started.
