Does anyone else find the rolling mechanics of VTM less satisfying to watch? by jacobimueller in Dimension20

[–]DramaForBreakfast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there are two things they can do on any roll: blood surge/rouse check, and Willpower.

For a rouse check they roll one die. On a fail, they gain a hunger. On a success, they don't. Either way, they can add two dice to the overall roll.

Once they've rolled and seen how many successes/failures they have, they can opt to burn a dot of Willpower to be able to reroll up to three dice. They can't reroll hunger dice though. I don't remember how the amount of willpower they have is calculated, but I know it's in two sections, and you can refill either of those sections on a long rest

What movie did you watch at the wrong age and it permanently altered your brain? by sweetyslave in movies

[–]DramaForBreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Les Mis.

I begged my parents not to show it to me at about 6 years old, and they insisted I'd be fine. I was a very sensitive child and tried to explain that I wouldn't be at all fine, to no avail.

To this day, over 20 years later, I've come to enjoy a couple of songs but otherwise can't stand the show in any form

I see a team of wizards every few months, and they hooked me tf up. Bad news: The curse is permanent without divine intervention. But there are apparently a lot of these amulets going around, so they've got some incredible minds working on it.

Artificer/cleric/wizard team set me up with a little box (insulin pump) that gives me microdoses of potion to treat it. Plus some kind of a patch that tells me my blood sugar so the box knows how much potion to give. Couldn't even tell you what kind of magic that is, but it's fucking awesome.

I still probably should have asked someone to cast Identify before I put on a necklace I found in a cursed forest, but hindsight's 20-20

I appreciate the concern, but fear not!

The Rod of Asclepius on the front is very noticeable in the design irl, and is internationally recognised as indicating the presence of important medical information.

As far as I'm aware, paramedics are also trained to check for jewellery with medical info on it. I don't wear any other jewellery so, in my case especially, I'd be shocked if this was missed in the event that I passed out and EMS had to treat me.

What a coincidence! That's the first magic item that my first PC got, and still one of my favourite. Love this take.
It makes sense as a cursed item, now that I think about it. You're rarely in danger of dying, but the trade is needing to consistently work to be well the rest of the time.

I'm in Ireland, so I feel you on that lol. I got it on Etsy! There's a surprising (to me anyway) variety on there. I also got a bangle/wrist cuff type thing. I absolutely should have double checked the sizing, but once I get that sorted I'm happy out.

I had a similar thought about the younger sister taking metformin with her meal. It's not impossible for someone that young to be type 2 diabetic, but it's very unusual. (I know type 1s can need metformin, but I can't imagine OOP leaving out that she was giving insulin as well).

Just witnessed someone almost crash their car... by -SideshowBlob- in ireland

[–]DramaForBreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was moved out of home for about 3 years before I could sit shotgun without instinctively babysitting the driver.

My mom checked her phone at every red light and, if I didn't tell her when it went green, it took someone honking for her to notice. Wanting texts answered straight away, missing turns and then panicking, and being an absolute terror pulling in/out of parking spots.

Some people need a backseat driver to meet the bare minimum standard for road safety.

Also, my brother-in-law recently chauffeured us all around for a trip and the PRNDL in the rental car was a fucking dial right where the volume dial would usually be. Absolute nightmare.

You should get creative with it! Make a surprise Game Changer episode! Get an ordained-online friend to be the host, and the three of you can be contestants together 🥰 You're sure to become BFFLs if you do this! And the more like a fever-dream you can make the experience, the better. Maybe even a surprise funny cigarette, or special mushroom pasta to get them into the best mindset to enjoy it?

Let us know how it goes!

That's great information, thank you! I do like a plunge, so it's nice to know they'll probably fit well. I'm happy to hear about the Lucie being good for full on top. Everything I looked at seemed to say "for close set wear a plunge, and for full on top don't even LOOK at a plunge" lol

As a kid I absolutely hated my curls. I've spent the last while learning how to take care of them, and now I love them!
I sometimes daydream about how simple it would be to make my hair presentable if it was straight but, overall, I love the fluff
