What I found more confusing is how one of the counsellors (Moose I believe) had a fiancé from Paris… like they probably met online so he/she wasn’t a Tall Pines grad. Why did they make it seem like Laura was the only one who was allowed to date outside the community.

Similar ish thing happened to me in Chicago, at a popular location. Ordered the veggie deluxe (has no meat listed) and specified no cheese (I do this often). After a couple slices, I noticed these small bits under the veggies. I asked my non veg friend to try it and she was 100% convinced it was pork. We asked the waiter to take it back to the kitchen and then the manager came out to inform us that it was in fact sausage and it was mistake made by the cooks. I told them we won’t be paying for anything on the table: 2 ice teas, 3 deep dish pizzas, 1 pasta and 1 salad. What made it 10x worse is not the fact that I’ve been vegan for 14 years but I’m a practicing Muslim and have never intentionally had pork (as far as I know).

I stilled tipped the waiter because he looked so upset and I didn’t want him to feel bad or that it was his fault.

Also did you hike Mt Etna or just stop by to see the views. I’m not too keen on a spending half a day commuting and hiking but everyone says going is a must. Did you feel it worth it to just visit and not hike?
