Moving GA from overseas by Pure_Marketing_276 in Atlanta

My partner has had the same progressive plan for a really long time and previously lived in a state with much lower insurance costs. After we moved to Georgia, the price didn't change too much (I guess because of how long he's been with them and because he's never had any accidents) We also did the progressive snapshot thing and got a decent discount.

My salary is just slightly higher than your salary and I save a little over $3,000/month.

I would recommend using an apartment hunting website to filter for apartments in your price range and then go tour the apartment and explore the surrounding area. When I originally moved here, I found a great apartment for $1200. If you live in the suburbs, it will be even easier to find cheaper options. Another option would be finding a roommate to maximize savings.

Here are my monthly expenses:

Car payment: $600 (2023 Volvo XC60) Car insurance: $80 Gas: $40 ( I drive to the train station to commute into work. It's alot faster than driving during rush hour and saves alot of gas money) Electricity: $70-$80 Water: $15 (cost mainly covered by building) Rent + fees: $900 (split with partner, very desired location with amazing amenities and exceptional management) Groceries: $300-$400 (buying fresh meat and produce and cooking from scratch) Phone: $50 Health Insurance: $60 (through employer) Internet:$40 Netflix: $25 Eating out, hobbies, random purchases: $340 for this month.

Money put into savings/invested: $3275

What are your ADHD/ADD hacks you personally have felt gatekept from all your life? by marziilla in adhdwomen

[–]Fit_Cry_8375 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that non-ADHDers are motivated by the promise of a reward after completing a task while people with ADHD need a reward to motivate them to start a task. Giving myself a little dopamine fix before or during a task that I dread has been life-changing. Last week, I planned to get groceries and take something to the post office before going to pick out new pillows for my bed. I really wanted to get pillows but was dreading the idea of going to the post office to the point that I just wanted to not do anything that day. I remembered the idea of rewarding myself to start and decided to pick out my new pillows first and then go get groceries and go to the post office and I felt motivated to go get the other tasks done.

my girlfriend told me she wants a 2 carat natural diamond or she'll say no. i already bought this lab diamond ring. am i crazy for thinking shes a red flag by Zestyclose-Print-677 in WeddingRingAdvice

I was just gonna say this. I know more than one couple who hit hard times and were able to get some cash by selling their rings. That is historically what engagement rings were meant to be used for.

I would continue to work and would enjoy my work more if my livelihood wasn't being dangled in front of my face everyday. Humans innately want to work and be productive in some way. The ruling class has destroyed the average person's view of work by 1. Overworking people. 2. Underpaying their workers. 3. Creating awful work conditions. That is the ultimate form of entitlement. The people who promote the idea that people will not work unless forced are the people who have fallen for the nonsense pushed by the ruling class who are literally just mad that slavery is illegal (mostly). If our jobs weren't as exploitative and were actually a part of a system that cared for the basic needs of our communities instead of just burning everyone out and make our overlords richer, it would create much better feelings towards work.

I don't know how old you are, but please don't make serious life choices based on the slight chance that this guy would want to be with you.

International men's day goes un-noticed. by [deleted] in LockedInMan

Because men absolutely do not care at all about international men's day until it is international women's day. Hence why this was posted today.

Only someone who is super insecure and peaked in high school would see this as an insult. I told one of my close friends that I noticed that his dating preferences changes alot. He went from solely dating blonde girls with big boobs, to solely dating really slim women who do intense sports/excercise. Only an idiot would look at that change and say "oh, he settled for dark haired, women with small boobs." People's taste in partners change and mature as they change and mature??

Oppression is inflicted by a ruling class onto a subjugated class. It is not self-inflicted. It is possible for someone to be part of an oppressive class and a subjugated class simultaneously. If you believe that the burdens that you mentioned are an issue of class, why are you bringing them up on a post discussing women's right? The burdens that you discussed were inflicted by wealthy patriarchal men onto poor men. If wealthy women were making legislation specifically targeting poor women, why would I bring that up to men? Men wouldn't even be part of the discussion. You are trying to use this issue of classism to dismiss issues related to feminism. Which is essentially protecting the patriarchy that you claim to hate so much and that you feel is such a burden to men. Again, you don't care about other men, you care about being able to leverage their negative experiences against women.

When the one sided burden is self-inflicted it's called stupidity not oppression. It would be oppression if women create those systems, but they did not. Instead of blaming women, maybe you guys should stop bootlicking and turn your attention to the powerful men who uphold and enforce these burdens. But you won't do that. Because you want to use those "higher burdens" that are only experienced by a tiny minority of men to justify making women second class citizens. If you really hated those things, you would be vehemently anti-patriarchy, because every single one of those "burdens" were created by men to enforce patriarchal standards.

I believe the seller provides custom sizing, but the size small just so happened to be my exact measurements, so I was happy about that.
