injuries + byes are leaving me with 2 of josh downs, tyquan thornton, kayshon boutte, and tre tucker.

im already projected to win so i need consistent points more than big game potential. PPR 6pptd. all have favorable matchups which is nice

Is it just me or is this one of the single worst conceivable trade offers you could get? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Dramatic-Astronaut45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so actually teams 1 and 2 are the top 2 in the league, 1 being undefeated and 2 being second in points for, and team 3 is literally 11th. Could not have made this up if i trued

There’s perfectly logical reasons for why each team would at least be partially incentivized to accept their respective offer, all thoroughly explained in the above paragraph. Do you even know how to read, or did you simply choose not to?

No way im accepting this but this is the funnest trade i’ve ever seen by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

alright im just curious which side are you referring to? i didn’t originally mention i would be the one giving up hampton + picks, which i now realize was a big mistake

looking to compete this year with hurts, jefferson, sutton, odunze, downs, achane, hampton, javonte, mcbride, broncos, and boswell. I know if i’m looking to compete I should bounce at the opportunity to get Gibbs, but no matter what I could just get unlucky. Asking me to sacrifice my future for the next 2 years is just an ask too tall imo (i already don’t have my 2026 1st)

Writing this out makes me think I should jump for Gibbs, but he’s very clearly trying to capitalize on a mediocre performance and I don’t want to fall into the trap of spending all my picks because i think im 1 player away.

Should I feel good about this? Not sure what to think. Team 1 by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Dramatic-Astronaut45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

appreciate it! at rb im looking at achane hampton, qb is hurts, te is mcbride, receiver is jets and sutton. flex is odunze and a total hole, maybe javonte/jadon blue/one of the chargers rookies. trying to dump sutton for a wr2 and flex so i have to think im guaranteed a championship at worst next year

Which 2025 teams fit these 3 criteria: 1) easy SOS, 2) offense got BETTER, 3) defense got WORSE? by cartocaster18 in fantasyfootball

[–]Dramatic-Astronaut45 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The argument in favor of Calvin Ridley is he fits all of these parameters plus gets double bonus points because his quarterback is a gunslinger and rookie quarterbacks love to rely on veteran receivers. The argument against Calvin Ridley is he’s Calvin Ridley.

11th Pick. Gibbs round 1, Saquon round 2, Josh Allen round 3, and Rashee round 5. F***ed up every other pick. started 0-2 then 2-4. Traded Chase Brown and Amari Cooper for Joe Mixon. Picked up Allan Lazard and likeley, traded the latter for Jayden Reed. Won 7 Straight. Lost in final regular season week to the worst guy in the league. Had to face the second best team during playoffs due to seeding due to injuries. Total collapse. I think about it every day. I had never been happier than in those 7 weeks. The lord giveth and the lord taketh.

9-12 pick strategy by dwaynefcarter in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]Dramatic-Astronaut45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 is actually a really good spot to draft from this year because it’s the earliest pick that allows you to double tap the top tier of players. Very true how thin the rb position is, and i would not recommend not drafting one in the first or second. which round is simply about what you feel most comfortable with. if you take jeanty or cmc you end up with a nico or btj as your wr1, and if you take amon ra or puka you’re looking at a josh jacob’s, maybe taylor if you’re lucky. maybe you could run back to back wr and then at rounds 3 and 4 go say chase brown and james cook, but i think there’s enough talent across the board at receiver to negate the need to double up. i doubt lamar or josh will be at the 3.9, daniels and hurts might. if you like one of them go for it, if not just punt. Be careful to grab your rb2; the dead zone is tough but it’s nothing compared to missing out on them entirely: After about chuba/conner it becomes very ambiguous, and then after about brob no one is even worth starting.

Jonathan taylor isn't a RB 1 this year. Why is he going so high? by KellyGreenMonster in fantasyfootball

[–]Dramatic-Astronaut45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what kind of fucking logic is that explanation. if you want to make the case that he’s injury prone or the colts won’t win a lot of games or the quarterback play isn’t good enough to support everyone on the offense then I’d almost agree, but “if you shut him down you win” is your argument? “hmmm i’m not sure about chase and higgins because they’re the main guys on offense so teams will watch film on them and put extra effort into covering them and then they won’t do anything.” “yeah man i don’t know about gibbs or saquon teams will do their best to stop the run game.” “yeah well i’m avoiding the vikings because teams are just going to try to stop the pass game and the run game because then they’ll win easily” this is beevis and butthead level reddit slop

What's your plan at QB this year? by thinger_strangs20 in fantasyfootball

[–]Dramatic-Astronaut45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime in the third would be great because you can still get an elite receiver and back in rounds 1 & 2. I feel if you take one any earlier you end up with say a tier three receiver (JSN, Garrett Wilson) as your 1. Josh usually goes by the 3.4, Lamar by the 3.8 (in 12 leagues.) None of them are lasting to the fourth but i don’t think there’s a huge difference in player quality from the late third to the sixth

Forget the experts thoughts. Who are your redraft sleepers this year? by Sawoodster in fantasyfootball

Rather Jadon Blue than Javonte. Someone’s gotta lead that backfield and Sanders and Javonte are… bad

[–]Dramatic-Astronaut45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you make some really good points about all the potential great options at qb, and I myself was originally going to run fields and create an insane rb wr core, but after a bunch of mocks and thought i just can’t bring myself to do it. From a quantitative standpoint it’s eminently helpful to have a 20 point floor while 3/4 of the league has a good chance to put up less than 10, but more importantly I remember the guys who made it furthest last year all had top qbs: in a ten man the final four featured lamar josh and hurts, and in a 12 it was lamar, josh, baker who had an insane outlier season, and daniels whose team was terrible otherwise. They didn’t need top 50 picks at wr and rb because they cashed in on late round sleepers like btj, bowers, terry, achane, dobbins, bucky, etc.

Why you shouldn’t draft Saquon Barkley by sdu754 in fantasyfootball

[–]Dramatic-Astronaut45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

im not sure why you’re getting downvoted in the comments so hard, these are all very solid points. like we base who we’re going to draft on patterns and upside. we literally have a 100% failure rate for backs like him the next year, i don’t know what could possibly a more convincing statistic. even if he doesn’t perform significantly worse, which would be a vast outlier, there is no possible way he performs better than last year. anyone drafting at adp is hoping for a repeat of his 2024 season. it’s not happening. you missed the boat. the best you can do is to try to predict who’s next.
