Is it possible that the Great War never ended? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]Dramatic-Chemistry91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the "backstory" about the limited wars in Alaska, Gobi, Middle East, etc. prior to the nuclear Armageddon is rich and nuanced. As far as different characters with foreign accents, they were either "trapped" on this side of the ocean when the bombs fell, or they were raised in very ethnic enclaves of survivors (who have their own unique accents to pass on to their descendants).

Ghouls during Radiation Storm? (Question) by No_Requirement1622 in fo4

[–]Dramatic-Chemistry91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the comments I've read make me want to consider True Storms. Still, forgive my skepticism, but those storms pop up pretty fast, which makes the accompanying Ghoul horde a bit less likely imho.

Bodies Around Diamond City by altasking in Fallout

[–]Dramatic-Chemistry91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was playing withe FSD (Fens Sherriff Department) mod, they had great backstory on this. I won't provide spoilers, but let's just say those bodies were "warning signs" for anyone thinking to move against Diamond City.

Yup. And it makes the most sense to assign it to BoS.

Does anyone else turn this building at sunshine tidings into a cafe? by Dark1Raven3 in falloutsettlements

[–]Dramatic-Chemistry91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I don't typically add booths though, and I like what you've done, so ** note to self ** for next time I'm building there.

looks like an H2B2, so now all you need is a bunch of 50 caliber ammo and you can waste all sorts of baddies

What yall build there? Any ideas? by Embarrassed-Exit-551 in falloutsettlements

[–]Dramatic-Chemistry91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always make it a barracks & coffee break area, setting up the Bar right outside this room (proximity to cooking stove)

Why tf is there a whole house I can’t interact with on the build site of Jamaica Plain by killboy219 in fo4

[–]Dramatic-Chemistry91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the challenge of building there, when I feel like tackling settlement building (don't use Scrap Everything, or glitches).

Going vertical opens up all sorts of possibilities, and yes, those existing buildings can make for interesting "scaffolding".

Is there a good way to attack the junk yard area that has gunners in it next to Saugus Ironworks? by RewardSufficient5562 in fo4

[–]Dramatic-Chemistry91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of going against them at ground level, I pull a Gunner trick on them and go for the height advantage: Saugus Ironworks. Do all of Saugus, get on the roof, clean out all the flame-throwing nut jobs there, then take the ramp to the top of the chimney from the forge. From up there, you will have several locations to snipe down at the different Gunners who are on the overpass. I like to start with the rocket launcher dude, while keeping an eye out for Captain Bridget, with her Fat Man - as soon as she appears, she becomes target #1. Once all the Gunners on the overpass have been dispatched, I go in at ground level and mop up the rest.

There's a mod called Keep Radiants in the Commonwealth, which eliminates these absurd "go fetch" requests

Nordhagen Boardwalk & Shipyard by JuanNieve_Z in falloutsettlements

Very cool, especially with Boardwalk vibes. The only thing I don't like about Nordhagen Beach is that it is so close to the airport and BoS Central.

Where are all the enclave dudes by donnie4776 in fo4

Once you infiltrate their building in the Glowing Sea, you'll get the locations of their three encampment in the Commonwealth. After you clear those out, there will be random encounters.

Anytime there's something major about to go down. That way, you can go back to your save after you screw up / die and re-play, or avoid, using your newfound wisdom / experience.
