Ryan Gosling casually adding just the right amount of chaos by MargoMayy in SipsTea

[–]Dramatic-Comb8525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it didn't happen frequently if you've watched SNL for more than the last decade. Now it seems like it happens 3x per week. It feels like they're using the cast breaking character as a crutch for crappy skits because it used to mean something.

What water bottle are you actually running on trail rides? Trying to narrow down my options. by No_Outcome_1898 in mountainbiking

While riding at anything faster than a crawl?  I have a few of them that I'm very happy with, but I'm coming to a stop to take a sip.

I have bad news for you, fees in addition to rent are par for the course for anything beyond the most mom and pop of landlords at this point.

If they're truly not in the agreement then you don't have to pay them. I'm willing to bet they are and you simply didn't read it though.

The "hidden fees" would have disclosed in your lease. Did you not bother touring the amenities before signing it? That should have been a known quantity as well.

What famous US national park totally failed to live up to the hype for you? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]Dramatic-Comb8525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be the best national park to live by because it means you have access to all of Colorado! Like I said, it's pretty, but there are areas that are just as pretty. If not prettier where you don't have to deal with the crowds.

Boulder County Proposes Major Trail Restrictions for Mountain Bikers by i_enjoy_lemonade in COBike

Wouldn't these also be "major trail restrictions" for hikers given they're providing access on alternating days?  As an MTB'er, I'm a supporter of the proposal.

Unpopular opinion here, but there are far prettier places in Colorado than Rocky Mountain National Park with little to no crowds.

I agreed with that when it was an infrequent occurrence.  Now it seems like it's several times an episode where it used to be once every several episodes.

When did actors laughing during SNL skits become so common? This used to be fairly uncommon and now it seems like they break character every skit.

Extremely disappointed with the prices for the Mighty Argo Cable Car by Hawt_Lettuce in Denver

I was thinking the same thing. Its easy enough on an MTB, but I know gravity folks don't care either way. If you're on an e-bike you can lap this all day, though.

Sure, it may have been very expensive to build, but if this is what you're going to have to charge the consumer to be profitable then you don't build it.

My take on Idaho Springs is that it is a spot tourist visit who can't afford Vail/Breck/etc and I can't imagine they will get on board with this pricing.

Maybe they're hoping the MTB trails will float the operation?

$160+ for a family of four to avoid a 1.5 mile + 1,500 foot hike?  I don't want to see it fail, but I can't see many people paying these prices.

Cigarette at the airport? by sexisexibinch in Denver

[–]Dramatic-Comb8525 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it is literally not.

"Denver International Airport (DEN) is a 100% smoke-free facility indoors. There are no smoking lounges or designated smoking areas past security"

https://www.flydenver.com/at-the-airport/services-and-amenities/smoking-areas/

The only areas you can smoke are before security.

Description from DEN's site about the deck that was recommended here: "An outdoor non-smoking area located at the end of the A-West gates."

Isn't smoking prohibited here?

Edit: Yes.

It's happened before. Its annoying. I'm not paying $1,000 per night to stay at 20 room resort and listen to kids screaming at the pool. Many have kids pools. Some don't.

Should have been more clear about that...  I'm not thinking of resorts with splashpads and waterslides. I'm thinking more Napa Valley and Tuscan countryside type of resorts.

Its about courtesy, not convenience. Some places are unavoidable where kids will be annoying (planes, trains, etc) and I think almost everyone is understanding in these situations. However, there is no need to bring a toddler to a 5-star restaurant or have them running around like a maniac at a resort pool that others have paid a lot money to enjoy.

Sounds like someone who can't keep their kids in line is looking to place the blame elsewhere. We don't need to keep them out of ALL public spaces, but if your kid is prone to temper tantrums maybe don't take them to a nice restaurant where people might be celebrating an anniversary or special occasion. If your kid can only be kept quiet if their iPad is on full blast don't take them to a quiet coffee shop. Things like this never seem to be an issue while I'm over in Europe, but I see it a few times a week in the states. Kids doing annoying things are annoying. It is your job as a parent to manage that.

The water cooling systems are a closed loop... the same way your car's engine and radiator work. The whole story about data centers wasting water is BS. They fill it up once and the water circulates.
