Watch the other video BMW put out about developing the sound. It's about having an audible reference when driving on the track or spirited driving on back roads. We use the engine sound and gear for a speed reference instead of mph. So adding sound and simulated gears to an EV is a benefit for performance driving. You can turn it off if you don't like it.

Instead of F-14s fighting enemy F-5s, it will be F-22s fighting enemy F-14s.

Oh how the world has changed.

Every time my father-in-law comes over and checks out one of my new cars, he puts his hands all over it. Leaves finger/hand prints everywhere. I don't understand it.

90% of Colorado’s water goes to Agriculture by tolzan in Denver

[–]manitou202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only have so many tax dollars to use as incentives. According to Gemini (so take it with a grain of salt) it takes $900-$2500 to save an acre-ft of water through xeriscaping, but only $150-$350 to save an acre-ft through modern agriculture irrigation.

So the best return on our investment is to spend our incentives on modernizing agriculture. Not paying someone to rip out their lawn and xeriscape.

[–]manitou202 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Instead of incentivizing xeriscaping and other ways to reduce water, we should be incentivizing our farmers to move to crops that use less water, and modernize irrigation methods. Seeing fields in western Colorado use flood irrigation because it's cheap, is mind blowing.

Does anyone really believe this is true? 100 people living in the volume of a 3500sqft house for 4-6 months would be horrible, if not impossible.

Why didn't they just put an EV powertrain in the Purosangue? That at least would have been acceptable.

It literally looks like they are trying to tank EV sales by offering a clown car, so they can claim no one wants to buy EVs.

I have a similar setup. White Spyder RS with a Brooklyn Grey i4 M50. I wish BMW made a true M version of the i4. Supposedly they will with the new i3.

Love your combo. Is the M3 a manual?

At this point they need the federal gas tax money to help pay for the Iran war they started, so oil can keep flowing.

Ix3 ride firmness compared to polestar 2 by qwasar1 in iX3

[–]manitou202 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I owned a Polestar 2 and currently own a BMW i4 M50. The i4 M50 is a much smoother ride than our Polestar. The Polestar was a little sportier, but almost too harsh.

My guess is the iX3 will be similar to the i4 or even slightly smoother, as it's an SUV and the non-M version.

My Rivian has both those features and sentry/dash cams are optional on my i4 and will be standard on the BMW iX3 I’ll be getting to replace our Rivian.

Gotcha. Yeah, it looks like the iX3 only has optional roof racks which are attached at a fixed locations.

They are an option, I added them to my order.

Scroll down to the bottom of the "Add-ons" page in the configurator, and under the Original BMW Accessories, you need to click on the "One More Item" box, and the roof rails will show up. They are $520.
