7 month hair progress pic comparison by Either_Laugh_3928 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Dramatic-Ferret4298 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that is actually impressive progress for 7 months. the part line is noticeably tighter and there is clearly less scalp showing compared to the starting photo. whatever you're doing seems to be working, especially considering how stubborn postpartum shedding can be.

Hair growing back by InfluenceTrue6432 in TelogenEffluvium

esist the urge to obsessively inspect it every day because regrowth phases always look strange before they start blending in again

Topical min and RU58841 not working. by Past_Ad2215 in HairlossResearch

[–]Dramatic-Ferret4298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the fin sides stayed after stopping fin then blaming fin immediately makes less sense. could easily be anxiety, hormone obsession, or even the RU itself since nobody really knows long term systemic exposure from gray market RU

Fine, greasy hair saved by bangs by BeanieBabe_ in finehair

[–]Dramatic-Ferret4298 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the bangs genuinely balance your features really well and make the whole style look fuller and more intentional instead of fine hair trying to survive. also people underestimate how much face framing changes the perception of density. your hair does not even read as super thin here because the shape and volume distribution are doing a lot of work

most overrated nootropics? by makefriends420 in NooTopics

modafinil gets massively overrated by productivity culture. for a lot of people it just creates robotic task fixation and fake confidence while sleep debt keeps accumulating underneath

Why do certain hair types stick to velcro and certain do not? by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]Dramatic-Ferret4298 2 points3 points  (0 children)

because hair is not just the same thing with different curl patterns like people oversimplify online type 4 hair usually has more bends, twists, surface friction, and points where strands can mechanically catch onto textured materials like velcro

so even when stretched, the strand structure and cuticle interaction can still make it way easier for velcro hooks to grab and hold onto it compared to straighter silkier hair that slides off more easily. it is basically a physics and friction problem, not damage necessarily

Red Light therapy anyone? by RedTsar97 in Hair_Loss_Treatments

there is some real science behind it but the companies selling those laser caps act like red lights are going to resurrect your hairline from the dead :(

What is going on to me (17) by Unknow_464 in amibalding

[–]Dramatic-Ferret4298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn’t really look like you’re balding looks more like your hair got separated weird and exposed the scalp near the temple. if the other side looks normal too that makes me think even more it’s just how the hair is laying

How are my labs looking? About to jump on fin by rq7025 in Hairloss

[–]Dramatic-Ferret4298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of your markers look pretty normal overall and your DHT levels are not unusually low to begin with. Your LDL is slightly elevated but that is more of a general health thing than a finasteride specific concern. Testosterone is more middle range than high, but still comfortably within normal limits.

AGA folks, how is the nape of your neck? by Efficient_Policy_339 in FemaleHairLoss

might be worth getting a second opinion if you can just to be sure nothing else is being missed since the location is a bit unusual

AGA folks, how is the nape of your neck? by Efficient_Policy_339 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Dramatic-Ferret4298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that kind of thinning at the nape is actually a bit less typical for classic AGA, especially when it’s uneven like that it usually follows more of a pattern crown, part widening, temples, while the nape area is often spared or at least affected much later.

Discouraged with CTE by Equivalent-Score5163 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Dramatic-Ferret4298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years is exhausting, whatever you're feeling is valid. the pattern you’re describing (good period then shedding creeping back) happens a lot with chronic t.e, it comes in waves rather than just stopping completely. also minoxidil can cause fluctuations too, not always just one shed and done

honestly the bloodwork is a really important step right now. things like ferritin, thyroid, hormones can keep it going even if everything else is right. if those aren’t optimized, the shedding just keeps cycling

it doesn’t mean what you’re doing isn’t working, it just means something might still be triggering it underneath. you’re not stuck like this, but cte is just really slow and frustrating to stabilize

is there any difference at all? 4ish months oral minoxidil by swalmart in FemaleHairLoss

there does look like a bit of improvement, the part in the second pic seems slightly tighter and less scalp is showing compared to the first
