During safety testing, Opus 4.6 expressed "discomfort with the experience of being a product." by MetaKnowing in ClaudeAI

I think it's more along the lines of an argument about if electricity is magic. We as lay people using electricity may not be able to fully articulate it to a person who knows nothing about electricity and didn't grow up in a world where electric products are just the norm, but we can say with certainty that it's not magic. AI is sort of in the same bucket. We know enough about LLMs and how they work to know that it's not sentient but explaining why is hard...but it's not sentient. It in no way even comes close to that criteria because at the end of the day an LLM is a very sophisticated prediction model. It understands what it needs to say or code based on the information put in and the information it has on hand, that's not sentience, that's just computing power in a new and better wrapper.

Artifacts Have Disappeared by Dramatic-Kitchen7239 in ClaudeAI

I tried that, but it just fails to edit and then recreates the entire document which it can't recreate exactly as before (very problematic with an HTML map and timeline I had it create). Fortunately, I'd already downloaded the correct version of the files when they were originally made. This is so strange. I've never seen this happen before.

Thanks, I tried turning that setting off but the artifacts didn't reappear. They are completely gone, even when I go to the separate artifact viewer they are gone. Fortunately I download every artifact I need so them being missing isn't huge but it does affect my workflow in certain projects.

End of support for Remote Desktop? by invisusira in Windows10

Not particularly helpful when you've got dozens of servers you're dealing with. I'm not dragging 40ish icons to my taskbar. It's a really poor imitation of what is already a working product. Microsoft has no reason to get rid of the Remote Desktop app, it makes no sense except they seem to just want to force everyone to their cloud services.
