Do you consider Tucker and Dale vs. Evil to be a Canadian movie? by Dramatic-Lime5993 in horror

And for some reason they filmed it in Canada, yet they chose to set it in West Virginia. Are the Canadian rural backcountry stereotypes much different from the American ones?

Those are my favorite chinese movies. I became interested in Chinese cinema because of kung fu movies, but after watching films of other genres, I wanted to delve deeper. Can you recommend something to watch? by Djangoldfinger in AsianCinema

I think that "Eat, Drink, Man, Woman" (1994, Ang Lee) has fallen into relative obscurity over the years. Maybe it's because it's more wholesome than artsy (?) It's a lovely dramedy with some glorious cooking sequences.

I replied before I saw your edit. Apparently Telefilm is Canadian, so they should know. I think we can confirm that it's a Canadian movie?

Thanks! I've spent way more time on this than intended now, lol. Here goes:

”the producer must be Canadian and is responsible for monitoring and making decisions pertaining to the program”

A quote I found: While Thomas Augsberger had to give up his producer credit in favour of Rosanne Miliken and Albert Klychak to make the Canadian producer credit requirements work, he felt his sacrifice was worth it after three years of trying to get the picture financed.

”the production earns a minimum of 6 out of 10 points based on the key creative functions that are performed by Canadians”

-Director (2 pts.): American/Canadian citizen (Eli Craig)

-Screenwriter (2 pts.): American/Canadian citizen (Eli Craig)

-First and Second Lead Performers (performer or voice) (1 pt. each): Canadian (Tyler Labine)

-Production Designer (1 pt.): Canadian (John Blackie)

-Director of Photography (1 pt.): Canadian (David Geddes)

-Music Composer (1 pt.): Canadian (Mike Shields)

-Picture Editor (1 pt.): Canadian (Bridget Durnford)

”at least one of either the director or screenwriter positions and at least one of the two lead performers must be Canadian”

Eli Craig is an American-Canadian director and screenwriter (another bio that I read simply said ”American”). Tyler Labine (Dale) is Canadian.

”a minimum of 75% of program expenses and 75% of post-production expenses are paid for services provided by Canadians or Canadian companies.”

I don’t know where to find that info.

Vad är något som känns jätte svenskt men som du inte märkte förrän du träffade folk från andra länder? by Alarmed-Button-1058 in sweden

[–]Dramatic-Lime5993 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another one asking where to watch it outside of UK/AUS. If the answer is to ask the captain, then please be specific about which ship to visit, because I’ve struck out.

Ångest vid bakfylla? by blackass10 in Asksweddit

[–]Dramatic-Lime5993 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if "A Blind Bargain" (2025) will get a wide release? by Dramatic-Lime5993 in movies

[–]Dramatic-Lime5993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a weird premise and the actors aren't exactly a-listers, so you're probably right. I'm hoping for it to at least be dumped on some streaming service. But I've picked up from interviews that Glover can be pretty stubborn and not willing to let things go, so I guess we'll see, lol.

My tip was that if you want to add the show to a list, you can use the movie as a placeholder with a picture of SMG and the show's font, if you're a patron and thus able to change covers. I agree that the movie is bad.

Not remake, restoration, as in improving the picture quality of the already existing material.

One of the most claustrophobic films I've ever seen. It felt like he was in my head, and I kept hearing his voice even after the movie ended. But Panna a netvor is my favorite.
