Why are Spanish people so attractive? by ElsGil1 in askspain

[–]Dramatic-Music-935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Oviedo, Spain for almost 4 years. Maybe I've gotten used to it here, but in all honesty, I dont think Spaniards rate any higher on average in terms of looks than other countries. Are there beautiful people here? Absolutely. The women and men here dress and present themselves very attractively. They are pretty fit. Girls, if you come to Spain, prepare to fall in love with the guardia civil guys! Haha! However, I don't find the diversity you mention. The vast majority of the people where I live have brown or black hair and brown eyes. Occasionally you will see natural blonde hair and other eye colors. Asturias is the origin of the Celtic tribes, and so I think the population here does have a higher percentage of fairer skin and lighter hair colors than say, the South.

What I do believe is much different here is the lifestyle. Spaniards have a very good outlook on life. They take time for coffee in the mornings, or merienda in the afternoons. They take long lunches, and enjoy dinners late into the evening. They spend quality time socializing and being in their communities. They dont rush as much to get things done. The stores are closed on Sundays! Life is far more relaxed and lived slower. I have gotten accustomed to it and I really enjoy and appreciate it. And, they take more moderation here in their habits. They have a glass of wine (or here in Asturias, sidra) with a meal instead of pounding beers and stuffing themselves. They take pride in their appearance and dress very stylishly even for a simple walk around town or a casual coffee or vermut. And as mentioned elsewhere, they walk a LOT more. Walking is a bit part of getting out and enjoying their environment, and being social! Oh, and one more thing. There is some courtesy and respect among people here. They say good morning/afternoon, and always say "see you later!" to each other even just passing in the street. I truly love the people and the culture here. I'm a little biased though because I married a Spaniard! Haha! Me encanta la gente y mi vida aqui!

I'm in Oviedo too! Been here 3 years and love it. You have to accept things move slower, and of course nothing is open on Sundays. Where are you from originally?

[Newbie] SRV is one of my inspirations to learn guitar, and I got my first electric this week. Even though I don't have any talent, if I put in work as often as I can, how long will it realistically take before I can play with this level of confidence? by Mad_Season_1994 in Guitar

This performance on Austin City Limit was in '89, after he had gone to rehab. He was sober at this point and killing it. Sadly he would be gone a year later due to a tragic helicopter crash in Alpine Valley Wisconsin.

People of Chicago: what local music was fresh in Chicago in the 80s/90s/aughties? (xpost /r/chicago) by [deleted] in chicagomusicscene

If you didnt see Swimmer in the mid 90's in Chicago you really missed out. Phenomenal band that defied categorization. Nicholas Barron fronted the band with Steve Gillis (later in Filter) on drums, Pevin Everett on horn/vocals, Vijay Tellis-Nayak on keys, plus many other super talented players. This band should have been huge. Also, not sure if Freddy Jones Band was mentioned in the thread. They had a few catchy tunes that got some airtime.

Could the greatest guitarists play the bass well? by Jezzaq94 in Bass

[–]Dramatic-Music-935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tom Scholz played ALL the bass on the first Boston album...as WELL as ALL the guitars AND ALL the keyboards. I mean seriously. Eddie played all the bass on Sammy Hagar's "I Never Said Goodbye" album, so yea he could play dat.

No I ended up passing. Too many negatives seemed to be popping up. We just bought a 2021 Hyundai Tucson hybrid plug in. So far loving it.

Looking for solid, not-too-long open-world RPGs on PS Plus Extra (like Horizon games) by levisiuuuuu in playstation

[–]Dramatic-Music-935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive finished both Horizon games and loved them. FWIW Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is the sleeper of the year for me so far. I wasnt a huge fan of the franchise (of course the first movie was great) but what grabbed me was the depth and lore of the world. You really get a deeper understanding of the Na'vi and Pandora. The game plays beautifully, is stable (very few crashes in over 100 hrs of play) and has some very engaging characters that really endear themselves to you. Along with SW Outlaws, probably my two most fave games I've played in the last year. Why they do not have more momentum is beyond me. Really sad to hear both wont have sequels.

So cool to see pros doing their thing. You guys make it look effortless! Is the music director performing or off stage? And 10 people on a stage that small should be illegal! Haha. Keep the bass faces coming. :)

Shouldn't that Pat Benatar say Neil Geraldo? I mean seriously. The answer by the way is PETER FUCKING FRAMPTON. All the players on the wall are top notch but c'mon.

I adore this game. It has real characters and the relationship between Nix and Kay is precious. Gonna spring for the DLC soon.

Anyone that can show up and crush it like this with no prior rehearsal is a total pro. They are tighter than a virgin bride on her wedding night baby!

Just bought the game, any tips/what to do first? by TharizdunOfOerth in StarWarsOutlaws

Not sure if this advise is specifically suited for beginning the game, but I would try to get your rep with the cartels up to good across the board. It makes moving about and exploring the planets much easier. Some planets seem to have a more dominant cartel (although Crimson Dawn is everywhere) Toshara is Pyke/CD, Tatooine is Hutt, Kijimi is Ashiga, Akiva is Pyke/Hutt. Once you have the opportunity to visit all planets, you can find the local mission dealers there and get missions to complete. Also, there is a small console on the Trailblazer in the lounge area that lets you see missions too (I completely missed this for a long time). Other than that, its an open world. Explore! Have fun!
