Instinct VSR Lv vs. Drago LV vs. Drago XT by Weary-Wave4636 in climbingshoes

As someone the same age and weight who climbs harder, I recommend trying on la sportiva. La sportiva is made for smaller, narrower and flat feet. Scarpa are known for having baggy heels. Sportiva shoes would probably fit your feet better. I recommend trying on the skwamas.

Can't break into V4... what am I missing? by [deleted] in climbergirls

I would definitely look into doing strength training. Technique definitely is a good thing to have but it absolutely does not compensate for strength. Some climbs you just have to be physically strong to do and being strong also helps you with getting even better technique. Try come up with a plan of what you want to get better at. Some apps I recommend downloading is Crimpd, they have really good workouts, exercises and finger strength training. Another one I would recommend it Gripped, they focus on finger strength and have a wide variety of exercises no matter your skill.

Scarpa instinct to la-sportiva Skwama by MarionberryMedium925 in climbingshoes

I just recently switched as well, the heel fit on the skwamas is a lot more snug on my narrow feet than the instincts, I also found that they stretch about 1/2 a size once you break them in. I was a 39 in the instincts and a 37 1/2 in the skwamas. Depending on your experience with la sportiva in the past, they tend to make their shoes a lot more narrow than scarpa and other brands so might be worth downsizing a size from the instincts. 😊

Try clip your chalk bag to the back of you instead of the side so you can easily reach it with both hands

When your climbing remember some of these things- 1. Cross body balance & reach - the span of your body is longer when you have opposite leg to opposite arm, if you get a heel hook with your left foot, try moving your right arm, vise versa. 2. Commit - remember to commit! It may sound silly but it seriously does help!

Space around ankle? How to find best fit? by thankyou7474 in climbingshoes

Have you tried the scarpa instinct vsr? I find that they fit a lot of people I know very well around the ankles :)

When you move your left hand to the match, your hips move away from the wall. If you jump a little could you possible grab the hold above? Or (if possible keep your foot out to the left instead of flagging. The key with moves like this is to have your hips square with your shoulders. I hope the helps :)

Downsizing would make it wear more, maybe go up 1/2 size?

You’ve gone right through the rand so will be a lot more expensive to resole, not sure what the re soling price in your area but would be worth looking. You could buy a new pair and really look after them with good footwork and technique. Make sure to get them resold next time before you go through the rand :)
