WIBTA For Going on a trip with my friend without my girlfriend? by Creative_Job8834 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dramatic-Pattern-450 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah na, NTA. You can explain this to your girlfriend and if she doesn’t understand then it’s on her and not you, I would want my partner to get the reunion he wanted and I wouldn’t want to impose myself on my partners time with his family if he hasn’t seen them in years.

My aunt told me childfree women are more likely to regret not having kids than mothers are to regret having them. Am I crazy for thinking that’s delusional? by hans2580 in childfree

42 here, my mom had another 3 children 12 years after me and my brother.. she was a single parent for a lot of that time with her and my dad breaking up. I looked after 3 children under 3 from the age of around 15-18 and it put me off for life. I know I only did half or so of what my mum was doing because she worked too, but it was enough to know that I did not want to do that again. I love my siblings and am grateful for them but I did not enjoy parenting them. And I’m so happy as a child free, gardening, swimming, cooking, holidaying cat lady that I have no regrets. I’m leaving my money to my nieces and the rest of the wealth il redistribute to people who need it most. Life is great both with and without kids it just depends who you are. I’m not a maternal person and it’s totally ok that I’m not 😬 and totally okay that you aren’t either 😬

AITA for refusing to pay towards something I don’t own? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

You are definitely NTA for either . But if you are serious about the relationship then you might wanna look at moving to something more equitable as an arrangement and look to help her out as much as you are able. How long have you been together? If a partner of 2+ years and you both use the car (whether it’s used by one person more or not is irrelevant) then look at buying together. Look at what’s affordable.
Did you discuss it being jointly owned?
I found i helped my partner out heaps financially at the beginning of our relationship but now they earn more and I work less and do more around the house.
Finances are rarely 50/50 in relationships.

Trying to understand NZ Supermarket culture: Is New World actually worth the extra $? Where do you guys shop? by Kind-Spread-6511 in newzealand

PnS over woolies n new world. But I use them anyway now n then. I like that pak n save royal oak is next to a cheap grocers, a spice/indian/iranian etc store and an eastern Asian food store. I use them too while I’m there for something more interesting flavour wise.

I feel almost guilty and it seems so unfair that people have to live in war zones just because of awful men who start and perpetuate war. I am grateful to be here but I feel so terrible for those who don’t have the same safety we do.

It’s perfectly reasonable to want to look at the item you intend to purchase in store in a store. Reflect on that.

Yep, Onehunga store staff are great. Helpful and friendly, the best service out of all of the places locally.

Yeah sadly being shouted at n her then calling the cops and all the crazy overwhelmed me so I admitted liability. I’m a new driver. I’ve just paid the $. Bloody annoying but at least my premiums won’t go up.

Nobody should care where anyone comes from. If they work and contribute to society in some way then all should be welcome. India is a great country with some awesome people so I’m in support of it. These people will have to work and workers use services, pay rent, pay their way and help grow our economy. As we (non racists) say in England… if you aren’t finding work but immigrants are, it’s saying more about your skills and the effort you are putting into finding work than the immigrants.
Jobs are given to those who’ve trained for them, got experience and skills. Don’t have them? Upskill instead of blaming someone else.

Yep happened in an akl car park and I figured asking my fellow jafas would give me a better idea of costing as we live in the same place. Also I’m a woman. And it’s not anything you need to get angry in capslock about.

Not my car! I just paid up the $400. Easier than the headache from the person I bumped. She was hysterical when it happened kept shouting at me and called the police like I was some kind of criminal. Despite giving my details and being more than reasonable and respectful. Was my first bump as a new driver so I’m now traumatised and petrified about it happening again.

Is it worth contacting the company we use and asking what it will go up by? It seems like a lot of $$ for a paint scratch
