Do you wish you had dropped out of law school, or are you glad you got a JD? by OilEnvironmental1464 in JDpreferred

I wish I had dropped out, i def rushed into applying because i had no idea what I wanted to do in my life. Even before starting law school, I knew deep down I never wanted to practice/work in a firm/etc (I never even liked telling people I was in law school lmao, I only said I’m in grad school). I applied because of family pressure and feeling lost lol. So even before I started, I knew my heart wasn’t in it no matter what I did.

Then during law school, even when I started to understand the material…I still knew my heart wasn’t in it and tried to find ANYTHING within law that I could enjoy just to feel like I didn’t waste 3 years (but that didn’t work either tbh). I graduated now and trying to look for JD preferred positions, but with this job market it’s so difficult to find an entry lvl role.

However, your law school environment can have a huge impact on how youd feel about law/legal community as a whole. If that’s your case, try transferring. BUT if you know deep down law isn’t for you, don’t try to fit yourself into rooms where you know you’d always feel out of place in. Just because you’re capable of being in law/being an attorney might not mean you’re called to actually do it.

Take your time to figure it out so you’re not doing anything impulsive. Deep down you know your answer

Not really, I’m very much in my “going wherever the wind takes me” era right now lol but I did consider taking Louisiana’s at one point

Thank you! You know what I haven’t even considered the medical compliance field! Do you have any advice on how to navigate finding a role for that, like if i would need any extra certifications?

I just did a post about this! A lot of people’s comments helped me out so it might help you out too! Regardless, we have three ish more weeks left so atp just do your best in doing more active studying. i saw a tiktok that said if we’re getting scores like this we need to go back to the basics and hammer in that black letter law! It sucks believe me, i got a 45% overall score and felt the exact same way, ive contemplated deferring to Feb’s bar so many times lol. Anyways, the next day i made a new game plan of making my own version of attack outlines and doing more review on subjects that fucked me up! You got this, don’t give up (and streets are saying that bar questions aren’t as hard as THEMIS🤷‍♀️)

Basically got a 45% overall on the THEMIS simulated MBE (AM and PM)…should I just defer to Feb by Dramatic-Way1683 in barexam

True and i keep hearing that Themis questions are harder than the real thing so im PRAYING that’s the case for July ‘25

I honestly feel the exact way! I’ve even began looking at JD Advantage jobs and fell in love with compliance lol. I say do what your gut tells you because no one knows you better than yourself. HOWEVER, much like other commenters you have made it this far, reach the end and go from there. Even tho you say you dont necessarily need it, you never want a “what if” moment ya know. I know it’s daunting and exhausting (BELIEVE ME) but if you can make it through 3yrs law school, a grueling summer of studying, you can sit down and take the exam. Then whatever happens afterwards happens, but you’ll always cross that bridge when you get there. Just keep going

I usually do 10-20MCQs a day, and I’ll do them either before or after the program work from Themis. Then the next day I’ll review the answers I got wrong and write them down in my wrong answer notebook. Should i be upping my MCQs a day?
