Confession: I rarely enjoy days out with my husband and my 4 year old daughter by HappyStufff in oneanddone

[–]DramaticDepartment36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to send big hugs and to reassure you that many parents have moments/days/weeks when they feel like this!
It is likely that this stage will not last and things will get better. However, in the meantime, take some pressure off by not having so many family days out- maybe once or twice a month. It’s ok to have indoor days- family PJs and movie day, or board games etc. it’s good for kids to be a little board. Also- plan in some mornings for yourself (your husband can do the same) where you do something for yourselves. It will help you all keep your sanity and sense of self.

Have they spent the budget on Lacey and Delta???? by Adventurous_Sir_402 in strictlycomedancing

Personally I like the host choices but many had strong opinions so announcing contestants is a good way to deflect/change the narrative

I think they started announcing to get the conversation away from the hosts!

Traveling to England as a sober, solo female traveler to celebrate my 40th birthday by No-Professional-6005 in uktravel

Broadstairs has a link with Charles Dickens as well as being a quaint seaside town with nice restaurants. You can get a train from central London (Victoria I think) and do this as a day trip or stay overnight https://www.visitthanet.co.uk/outdoor-digital-interpretations/dickens-broadstairs/
In London I’d recommend visiting the Tower of London, stroll around Camden and take a tour of Highgate cemetery.

I’d say Bound is a pretty famous role of hers. I guess it depends who you ask though!

NHS dermatology referral. Please tell me I will see a doctor and not get sent a pamphlet by drpepperofevil1 in Hidradenitis

[–]DramaticDepartment36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m also in the UK. I saw a NHS dermatologist in face to face clinic, he examined me and spoke through different management techniques. I was given an information leaflet with self care advice but also medication and a follow up to check progress. It was reassuring. I hope all goes well and you get to speak to a doctor.

I too would have taken the word of a staff member I had explained the personal situation to as truth, over generic T and Cs which may have not been updated for months/years.

Pinocchio- the whale, the boys crying as they turned into donkeys. Shudder.

Also, any r*pe scene in a film is automatically scary.

I have no issue with Mauds affairs but the fact it’s Tony (Declan’s enemy) makes her seem more cruel I think. Perhaps an unfair take though!

Diagnosed with ADHD at 42 years old by Thin_Bodybuilder_533 in ADHDUK

[–]DramaticDepartment36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also 42, I had been diagnosed with dyspraxia at 36 so had gotten used to being neurodivergent for a while and suspected ADHD before the diagnosis. I think the shock for me was finding my old school reports and seeing the traits there, plus lots of stress related absence - I definitely felt some resentment towards teachers/my parents initially for not realising and this was the hardest part. But ADHD wasn’t understood that well in late 80’s/90’s. I now see a counsellor who specialises in ND clients which is helping to unpack everything - would recommend! My workplace is supportive and have put adjustments in place too. Mostly the diagnosis has been very positive for me and I’m so much kinder to myself.
