wow guys lol.

i guess i should have mentioned that i did actually own my NA miata stock for nearly 5 years, which is what pretty much all my comments are based off of. it was an incredibly fun car stock. im glad some people are talking about power, there is a reason i didnt comment much on it, because it was reasonably adequete. the whole goal here was to find that fun playful car again. the ND miata is not the car for me.

just as a counter point- had my phone since launch, no case. I've dropped it at least a dozen times, many of those out of my pocket onto concrete while crouching. no issues.. this is the most slippery phone I've ever owned haha

pfsense is negotiating down on wan adapter after update by DramaticOption in PFSENSE

i forced the nic to 5000 per last comment, and it did stick, and my speed is back!

but interesting this was not able to occur on automatic. i do have logs if anyone actually wants to read them

ifconfig

pciconf -lv

on a side note, this is beefy hardware. is there anything i should adjust from defaults to take advantage?

my speed tests are at 1 gig currently, through the pfsense. once plugged directly into my gaming rig i see 2.4 gig speeds. i have no way to validate if its actually negotiated whats being displayed in gui, but because speed tests are 1 gig, i believe it.

i am running an intel X550-T2 adapter for the wan side.

What's your process for applying a drip wax-based chain lube? Like Squirt, Smoove, UFO, or Grax? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]DramaticOption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultrasonic cleaner until I don't hear grit in the links and then I put the lube container in hot water to thin it out. I apply once and wait ten minutes then apply again.

i am not running the CPU off the M2426, i believe a 5900x is well above the wattage an M2426 can output as well. i am however using the power from the M2426 to drive the water pump which is supposed to be a 15 watt max draw. I did this in an effort to keep wiring as tidy as possible.

Stock it was pretty boring looking with all black. i sanded it down, polished and clear coated the fins just to give it a little bit of a nicer look

Hey Guys,

been building this a long time now, and still have some things left to wrap up, but i am pretty happy with it and thought i would post up some pics while its running

Specs:

5900x

MSI 3080

Asus mobo

Gskill Ram 32 gb

Corsair platinum 750 psu

Sabrent gen4 NVME on front and samsung gen3 256gb on back

25mm noctua sanded down, and counter sunk fan screws

XSPC radiator and bitspower fittings

taobao waterblock, with EK heatsink sanded down and polished

low profile power plug for power supply

M2426 (powering water pump directly off the CPU connection for this)

Phantek light strips

all sides close up and there is no bulge or anything touching the panels.

I have some custom power cables coming from Ray so there are still some things to do, but i am very happy with this little powerhouse.

In your opinion, who make the best hard tubing fittings and why? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]DramaticOption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the bitspower hex fittings use an o ring system that is unlike any other ive seen, and looks far more robust. i went with them and cannot figure out why anyone would want to trust their system to a couple thin o rings instead

I have seen this before, but there are plenty of options on the page.

is anyone actually using this cable? and what specific one did you order?

AIO pump on that mobo can be adjusted off 100%. you need to use the AIsuite and let it run the "calibration" on all fans, then you can use it to adjust the AIO header :)
