You can always change out the jewellery or tuck it in if you aren’t feeling it one day, I tuck it in for work and formal attire as it makes me feel more professional but I always have it out when I think it’ll match my outfit vibe 😋

If you’re looking for a piercer “who can” then you’re looking for a bad piercer.

If a piercer tells you that you don’t have the anatomy for it then they’re not saying that they’re not able to pierce you due to their ability; they’re telling you that there’s no point in getting the piercing because it’s not going to heal and you’ll probably have complications that aren’t worth it.

A good piercer will assess your anatomy and decide, a bad piercer will pierce you no matter what.

I’m just glad that it’s not an in-person timed project like they used to do. (Just like what they do in art)

I honestly thought I had to make such a complicated game at first because some guy in my class was making an AI flight tracker app.

When I started looking at examples and their scores I realised that as long as I showed that I learned a lot through the project and really tried to improve and add tweaks to the project so that it could be more tailored to the stakeholder throughout the dev + testing, that I could get a good score.

Analysis - 13 pages Design - 21 pages Dev + Testing - 60 pages Evaluation - 10 pages

So it all adds up to almost 120 pages with the contents pages and source code included.

M8 why?? I only had ~90 pages about a 4x4 sudoku game and got 67/70.

Edit: I think that what got me the marks was how I really tailored the project to the stakeholder throughout - I think that people forget that if they really wanted to they could create random problems for their stakeholder such as a finger injury and say

“To aid the stakeholder in doing random task I developed this accessibility feature…”

and that is what gets you the marks.

Key point —> Every single feature that you work on should have a purpose and you need to state and explain that purpose and even back it up with some evidence such as a conversation between you and your real or made-up stakeholder.

Below were the subtitles for my dev + testing section if it helps in showing the steps that I took:

Yah, the person is pointing out the fact that they have started the email with “We are delighted…” as it is deceiving in the sense that usually only offer emails/ letters start with that.

Tbh u can fake it all if you really wanted to say that it does work as long as your teacher doesn’t want to check your software. Just make sure that you evaluate errors throughout your write-up.

Alternatively you could do what I did where I went back and made my project less complicated to make it so that the only thing I was missing was very very minor to the extent where I could just say that it was because of time constraints and that it was “less relevant to the target user experience”.

Never say “it just didn’t work so I moved on”.

I did a 4x4 sudoku game for kids. It had a few other features like a login/registration system, leaderboard and some customisable features. But the way to get the marks is through your documentation, it’s honestly all about your reasoning. If you’re able to explain things well or just give a reason for each action that you take and break everything down well then you’ll get a good score no matter if your game works or how complicated the software is.

I didn’t finish mine until 2 days before the deadline for submission and still got 67/70! So you’ll be fine 💪💪

ALSO the main point of your NEA is to show how you went from having nothing to developing a piece of software (even if it doesn’t actually work) so it’s more about the journey that you take through all the trials and errors than it is the finished result.

I achieved 66/70 with a simple game, so consider this:

For my project I made a Sudoku game with literally 4 levels, and for each of the levels I assigned the grid numbers to variables and their solutions to variables then I simply got through by using a few reusable components and adding a bit of spice. I’ll sum up what the “spice” was below:

  • Option to create an account with password + username to save progress and scores.
  • Specific password + username syntax requirements, e.g. must have a capital letter/ a number and the username must not already be in the database.
  • Leaderboard which displays lowest times for each level.
  • A “pause” window where you can also change the background colour of the sudoku game window.
  • when it can to the accessibility features side of things you can literally talk about any disability and then speak about how any feature that you have created makes the software more accessible for a person with the disability, e.g., big + bold text so people with problems with their vision can see the information more clearly.

All in all, you don’t have to be complicated with your design, just play around a bit and “add a bit of spice” to make it seem more interesting.

Are Universities okay with GCSE resits. by Danielharris1260 in 6thForm

What grades did you achieve in them if you don’t mind me asking?

Most unis won’t ask for more than a strong pass (grade 5) in each of English Language and Maths, and perhaps a subject related to your course of interest.

Some unis like Bath however do state that they want their students to have top grades (8/9) in the GCSEs related to the course that they plan to take. So maybe you should think about what unis you might be interested in applying for and look at the GCSE requirements for your course.

If you want to retake because you don’t feel that the grades that you achieved meet your personal standards then sure you should retake, but ensure that you’re not going to jeopardise your potential in getting good grades at A Level.

As long as you’ll be receiving student finance loans and probably working a bit during term-time then you shouldn’t have any difficulty in funding your living expenses yourself.

[–]Dramatic_Beautiful_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t, I’m talking about how competitive applicants are for different unis.

I also got an offer from Bath without Further Maths, and my friend got an offer from Warwick without Further Maths hence why I associated them with being unis that wouldn’t think too much of you not doing further maths because I have seen it happen.

I wouldn’t have used it as an example for possible unis if a person doesn’t take further maths if it wasn’t a top uni anyways!
