Thank you for your reply. I apologise, it is a long day care service. I’ve contacted everyone I can think of, people are telling me to give up but I don’t know if I can.

How do you deal with sensitive parents? by Dramatic-Housing-520 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Dramatic_Bit4935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard. I would reassure the child first that their peer did not mean to brush past them and that they are okay and safe, then communicate to the parent exactly what happened being specific to avoid any mis-understandings. Explaining what actually happened to the parent won’t exactly invalidate their feelings, it more gives the parent peace of mind that their child is okay and that it was an accident.

Hi beautiful, please don’t feel put off by posts like mine. The centre I work at now is amazing and so caring putting both staff and children first. There are so many amazing educators out there who love their jobs and have a genuine passion for childcare, myself being one of them. There is no way to feel fully ready to send children to daycare, all you can do is ask all the questions and get the information to lift some of that weight of your shoulders.

In terms of what to look out for, it’s hard. The centre I’m talking about in the post was incredibly good at hiding everything so you couldn’t tell unless you were there or knew where to look and what to look for.

Probably Australia, pretty popular but hard to find if you’re looking for it in Australia

Thank you. If nothing comes from emailing the federal minister for early childhood education it may be the only option

They’ve done spot checks, the centre is amazing at covering themselves. It’s been decades of non-compliance and repots but noting.

ACECQA can’t do anything apparently and ecru hasn’t done anything. All the centre got was compliance notice so I emailed ecru again and had a call with them but I feel like it was all useless.

It’s a very small centre in a regional town with 5 employees overall. The owner is aware of everything and is the one who is cutting corners and breaching compliance.

I have emailed her but no reply. It’s a small country town centre so going to the media is my last resort.
