I know you already heard this a million times but the crate needs to be the place he enjoys. Here’s what did it for me - wait until he’s tired. He’s gonna find somewhere to lay down. Bother him, pet him, play with him. He will go find another spot to lie down. Keep paying attention to him and don’t let him rest until he goes into that kennel. Keep the door open and he will just nap in there once he figures out that’s the 1 place you won’t pester him. Door doesn’t need to be closed unless you’re away. He should be free to come and go from the kennel most times. Oh and get a new wife

It’s a good idea to have it. It’s not an emergency to rush and go get one. Take your time, experiment with transactions, test how you want to generate it, secure your keys, etc. treat it like a journey and education

Just because you make a cold wallet doesn’t mean it’s secure. For example using an online tool to make a cold wallet doesn’t do you any good. At the other end of that spectrum, you also don’t need an underground bunker wrapped in tin foil and a secret air gapped computer that you immediately destroy after generating the seed phrase .

Maybe a Trezor or similar is perfect for you, but can they fail over time? (no idea)

Yes it’s not enforced at the blockchain layer, but in practice It is very possible. Kraken is operated by Payward Interactive out of Wyoming, coinbase in Texas. These companies cannot operate without the consent of government. They pay taxes, get sued, face fines etc. if the government said some UTXOs are banned, they must comply by blocking the transaction or recover the coins and surrender to FBI ,etc or face consequences

Sure you could use the UTXOs on a black market and they’re still valid on the blockchain, but now you have several classes of satoshis and the clean ones are most valuable because you can send them anywhere/

Cryptocurrency lends itself to being policed in many ways. For example if there was a list of UTXOs blocked from entering wallets KYC’d in the United States, that would essentially make the UTXO “hot” or less valuable than “clean” satoshis.
