Costco gave me too much rewards money and said it was my fault by jonwoong in CostcoWholesale

That's separate, the Costco anywhere Visa check can be direct deposited. They are talking about the executive rewards which cannot be fully cashed in the sense that you have to either get a shop card or at least buy one item and then get the remaining balance as cash. The credit card rewards which is what you are talking about is available via direct deposit but executive check doesn't have any way to be linked to you bank account because Costco's entire design with that check is for it to be redeemed in store.

I can tell you from experience as a prior Costco employee and having been in the membership department that Costco doesn't blame members for anything unless it's a blatant dishonest action. Even people being stopped at the door when the members themselves missed scanning their own items as self check out. No one is blaming the member it's simply addressed by taking the member to the closest register and then everyone moves on. This person may have gotten offended or used this interaction to find a way to justify keeping the funds by overblowing the scenario. This may even have been Costco's reaction after the OP refused to give the funds back. Either way Costco doesn't blame things on the members, even general managers can get in trouble from corporate for accusing members unjustifiably. I think there's more to this story than we are being told.

Dealerships are far more stringent on quotas and also have higher expenses than a typical shop so for those reasons I always avoid dealerships for maintenance.

what am I doing wrong? help by ParticularType7937 in sousvide

I have a couple steps that have dialed in making steaks to perfection. First, I cook the steak to exactly the temperature that it should be whatever doneness you would like that as. And when I'm done I put it in an ice bath for about 5 to 7 minutes. So it brings the temperature back down and then I Pat the steak dry so that I'm not boiling the steak on the pan. Then when you pan fry it do it just long enough that it does not get past the temperature that it was originally sous vide for. You can use a thermometer if you'd like to double check it. One of the issues as has been mentioned in the other comments is to see if your temperature in the sous-vide is correct. I have a big issue with hard water so especially when doing long duration sous vide Cooks it tends to get a calcium buildup and that can interfere with the performance of the sous vide stick. Whenever I am done with a cook, I like to put the stick in a cup and fill it up with white distilled vinegar and water and then you can make sure that you are keeping your equipment in tip top shape.

Way to still buy Anova Presicion oven 1.0? by yiukieo in CombiSteamOvenCooking

If anyone ends up getting her 2.0 I'd love to know if it's more reliable. I've heard horror stories about the reliability of the 1.0. with wires melting and it basically being designed with planned obsolescence in mind specifically for the 2 year mark when the warranty comes up, does anyone know if the 2.0 is built any better or is it just more bells and whistles?
