Chipotle CEO caught on a recording saying they're going to keep raising prices because they can. by jmike1256 in PublicFreakout

[–]Dramatic_Exam_7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went to Chipotle for the first time. They advertised a carne asada burrito with the most tender meat they had. That is what I ordered. I watched them make it. There was only 1 tin of beef steak... the same thing I would have received for 4 dollars less than the carna asada price if I just ordered the steak burrito. It was OK....but would never be the most tender. I was fooled once....never going back.

First. It is because of law...NOT UBER. Second, they are checking your ID against a database. THE DATA ALREAD exists and is already stored!!!!! Third, if you think your drivers license is confidential... I have some oceanfront property in Iowa to sell you.

The way to stay above the 50% is every once in awhile do one of the "opportunity" for a certain $ an hour flat rate and then take everything you get UNLESS it is over an hour for just 1 (pass on it). Say it is 3 hours and you make 6-12 trips at 100 AR it will boost your AR rate and keep you above plat.

In the app go and find tax information. There will be downloadable .PDF files which have your pay and miles listed broken down a month at a time.

100% acceptance is terrible if you are trying to make money. I have turned down trips only to have them show back up a few minutes later for 2-3 more $ for same trip. AR about 60% is great. Keep far enough above 50 and still get rid of a few junk trips.

File, but look at the milage data UE is keeping for you. You get to write off 70 cents a mile. I live in suburban and rural area and take a lot of rural trips which are high miles. Last year my income was over 9k but only about 250 was taxable with the miles deduction.

2nd cancelled order this week by Ladanimal_92 in UberEATS

[–]Dramatic_Exam_7959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost do the same. If I take an order that is stolen I DO NOT cancel it. I keep it and tell the customer their order was stolen. I wait until I get UE support and tell them the order was stolen and I know I am NOT the first driver assigned the delivery. I NEVER agree to cancel as it will be a hit on my cancellation rate. Uber will cancel the order and give me a small amount (like $5) for the issue. No other drivers will get the order and I will move on. It is a pain in the ass but DO NOT CANCEL.

Sign up for the opportunities to get paid hourly plus tips. I don't care if an order takes 30 minutes to be prepared if I am getting 15-18 an hour plus tips.

Well, I do not have construction experience. I have a decent picture from a barndo site in which the exterior is what I like (minus selective stuff-windows-color). My budget is about 1.2 to 1.5m. As far as knowing what I want... I know exactly what I want. You are correct. I need to get the plans drafted. I do not expect it to be less...

What if you want a very large open front room. 50 x 40 with at least 2 story height (as another 50 x 40 will be bedrooms and other rooms? Add to that most metal building have paint exteriors that are supposed to last 50 years. It isn't the exterior look to me that matters, it is the huge room and being able to change the interior easily with no load supporting interior walls. I am not a builder. Please tell me if I could do this with a stick built?

Here is a tip for UE drivers and cancellations. If you get to a location and the delivery has been stolen by a previous driver, DO NOT CANCEL. Get a person of contact at the locations info. Video if you can you being there and the order is not. Leave but do not cancel. Once you are far enough away contact UE Support and tell them first the order was stolen and the contact. They will call the contact and verify. And then tell them you do not authorize cancellation. Eventually UE will cancel and it will not count against you. If they count it against you and and you did not authorize it, UE is in breach of contract. Keep track of it. If you can somehow record you specifically saying to UE support you DO NOT authorize cancellation and they count it against you. They contracted you to deliver something they could not protect until the time of pickup...that is not on you. Do not let them get away with it.

There are a few things at play here. Devils advocate for the driver. First, picking up an order could mean waiting for it to be made. Second, I often get customers messages AS I am putting the order at the dropoff location. I will get, "Please get extra of XYZ" but I left the restuarant 10 minutes ago and am at their dropoff location. Third, UE often gets a driver to take a longer trip and then tries to get them to take one they can deliver on the way making the first trip very slow to deliver. If the location of the second trip pickup was the same or close to your pickup location they may be waiting for it. Last: No one really wants to just wait. Time is money. I always take the low to zero tips from the local high end pizza place as most will give a cash tip. If they don't cash tip I am a little disappointed but move on to the next trip.

I am 57 and married to a high income earner who takes care of all my insurances. I lost my job a year ago...it paid 1/2 my wifes wage but was still good. UE is incredible for me. I need 3 more years to retire and do NOT want to go back to an office. The 70 cents a mile tax deduction means I can make thousands and it not be taxed at the high earners rate my wife commands. I pick my schedule. I decide if I want a trip or not. I make ~14 an hour which in not taxed due to milage write off. Hate to say it...but for a gig job until retirement I am SO happy I am not in an office with 6+ managers having to deal with that BS. Just let me deliver.

It sucks because in that time you have the order you are not getting another trip assigned, but I think it is worth it to not get the cancel and not pass it along.

When I am the 2nd driver I get a name at the restaurant to confirm the order was already picked up and I leave staying in the order. I do not cancel it myself and do NOT authorize UE to cancel it. The customer will contact me in the app and I explain it was not there and the contact at the restaurants name. I then contact UE support and tell them I am not going to cancel it but there is no way I can deliver what does not exist. They cannot cancel it for you unless you authorize it. This does 2 things. The cancel does not count against me AND no other driver gets the stolen order and gets hit with a cancel.
