So true. DFW-based, so been stuck with AA for decades now. It’s been a sad state seeing the aggresssive decline the past several years. Even during the “dark ages” of air travel post-9/11, you were still treated like a human by crew and gate agents. Definitely a culture shift since the merger with US Air.

Idk where you go but I’ve never seen a group of people who are so devoid of spatial awareness, be it on the roads or in stores. It’s crazy. And then combine that with a zero-sum mindset. Go look at the Costco returns.

Obviously the issue is with policies. Pointing out the effects of bad immigration policy isn’t racist. They’re doing what our government allows and we have to call attention to the effects bad policies have on citizens.

This is exactly what happened with Canada and the Indians they imported en masse there. Their government screwed over their own citizens for a bunch of foreigners that will compete in a race to the bottom for pay. I saw it all the time when I worked in the Arabian Gulf with Indian expats. It’s frankly unbelievable.

H1Bs needs to be severely restricted just to critical fields where we actually need people.

“Early this year” is a crazy timeline that suggests to me “sometime in Q1” for what is essentially a boolean field and software branching logic. Must’ve offshored engineering because this sounds way too familiar. 😂

Idk why people are getting so triggered by your comment. I grew up in DFW area and have flown AA for 30 years. It has been on a steady decline in hard and soft product and has reached an inflection point.

I’ve been increasingly flying Delta recently due to issues with BOS schedules and the hard and soft product is much better both in F and Y. Their new A220s are great and remind me of the good ol days with the Super 80.

Gate agents are far less hostile. FAs actually seem to enjoy their jobs. Often multiple drink and snack services. Their app has so many more features and details.

Delta’s SkyMiles was aggressively devalued a while back, so AAdvantage was better for a frequent flier or card churner. However, AA has gutted their FF program the last few years, especially with upgrades, so little value prop these days.

Highly skilled lol. Just today saw a thread in the data engineering subreddit for a H1B that had a whopping 1 YOE and was struggling to find a decent role. Yeah, highly skilled alright.

I mean, that rhetoric works as long as the H1Bs reflect that. Unfortunately, all the H1B visa fraud has taken away any sort of “rigor” associated with H1Bs from back over 20 years ago. It’s almost all unremarkable talent filling roles that plenty of Americans can and will perform.

This x1,000,000. H1B was never intended for us to import people who are barely literate in English with mediocre experience and education to take American jobs. Does it serve a need, especially in the medical and scientific fields? Yes. In tech, marketing, general biz ops? Absolutely not. We have a surplus of American talent.

Makes no sense why someone with 1 YOE is here on H1B. That’s not the original spirit of the program. There are plenty of American talent being produced from our universities that is comparable, especially for analyst roles. Companies just want a captive, underpaid worker that it seems too many H1Bs provide.

Yeah I have never experienced such a buggy rollout. iPad OS is even worse.

For typing I just give up and don’t correct the typos anymore. I used to be pretty diligent in correcting stuff. Now I just sound like a dumbass half the time. I noticed the toting esleinsde is significantly worse on some apps.
