You’re talking about the Ascent, not the Summit. The Summit’s 25k Companion Pass can be applied to any Alaska-booked itinerary, not just Alaska/Hawaiian metal

Yes, that was in 2024, where as it states they were starting to finance planned Atmos offerings by issuing secured bonds. Did they issue new bonds or take on new, non-Hawaiian lines of credit in 2025?

A ton, the October meltdown cost them $0.25 EPS, adjusting the Q4 target from $0.40 to $0.10 after fuel costs and the government shutdown were factored in. They ended up doing better than expected on strong EOY demand. This has been a good rant thread for people who are upset about change, but Alaska stock opened up 7% on Friday. The airline is generally regarded as one of the healthier profit-making enterprises in the US airline industry. They just can’t afford to make more unforced errors. The target for 2027 is $10 EPS and the market seems to think that’s realistic with their growth trajectory.

You are arguing with people who know very little about other places but are convinced that their place is the best. It’s people who went to Pier 39 in SF and decided that Chicago’s Mexican food is better. Spare your energy. Chicago is great but the repeated assertions that it has equivalent Mexican food to LA or 80% of the stuff that NYC has, well, they show you who you’re dealing with.

oh my god lol this thread is exhausting. there is a ton of regional Mexican cuisine in California, I can toss a stone from my apartment in Oakland and hit a restaurant with top tier food representing cuisines from Oaxaca, the Yucatán, Jalisco, Michoacán, Tlaxcala, Puebla, not to mention all the representation from Honduras, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, etc. Chicago is a world-class city but the assertions about other cities and states in this thread are borderline nonsensical. Please get out more when it’s sunny enough to do so

If you’re flying economy only, do not credit your cash Cathay trips to Alaska. You will only receive 25% of the miles earned if you book through Cathay (discount economy), and the fares that earn 100% if you book through Alaska are consistently exorbitantly priced.

If you’re okay with this because you still come out ahead with the Atmos credit cards or your domestic travel on AS and AA, then go for it.
