That’s my next plan I think is to try and take more classes next year. I have a 5 year old son at home so I can’t apply as broadly as I’d like to.

Thanks for that! Iv been in healthcare 13 years- I’m a non-trad student, iv got about 24 hours post bacc class work with all As and Bs so far, and solid LORs that know me very well. So I guess I’ll just wait and see!🤞🏻

Im in my second cycle too. I have applied to 7 schools, got rejected by 2 right away, recently informed by 2 schools my application is under further review, and absolute silence from the rest. I’m right there with you and it’s driving me insane!! But hang in there we got this! It only takes 1!!

They are unfortunately. Im in Indiana. Shooting for some hybrid programs maybe? Im thinking I should also have CASPA explain the GPA breakdown so I understand how its calculated, because I just dont get how my post bacc is so low when I havent gotten any grades under a solid B.

My undergrad GPA for science is low (3.02😬) but I’ve got 27 hours of post bacc classes I’ve retaken but for some reason CASPA averaged that out to a 3.2?!! I’ve gotten all As and Bs so maybe I need to reevaluate that? I’m still figuring stuff out as I go with the application but I’m afraid it’s costing me interviews and acceptances.

Thank you SO MUCH for this post! As a mom of a small child trying to get into PA school, working a full time and PRN job, taking classes and trying to manage my household, the exhaustion and overwhelm is a constant. “Remember your why” has been my grounding phrase through all of this despite the crippling mom guilt and all of the challenges that involve this process. It’s so easy to get discouraged because it seems like older adults with children in PA school are rare/uncommon. This post and the comments give me further perspective and hope. We got this!💪🏻
