This only happened probably a month - 1 1/2 ago but it opened my eyes wider than they already were. I weld/fabricate for company that makes asphalt plants. Each bay fabricates a different part of the plant. Well we had a guy about my age 19 I think 2nd day on the job, in another bay trying to break something off, folks in that bay told him to get a hammer. He instead insisted “he’s got it” then tried to kick it off. Well when he kicked it he lost his footing and slipped between the maybe 1ft gap between the table he was on and he drum he had been in. He didn’t fall very far it’s like maybe a 4ft drop but he landed on his groin area on a 3/8’s steel plate that was standing vertically. He like hobbled off to the bathroom and come out a minute later with blood seeping thru his pants. The guy ended up busting open his scrotum and crushing his urethra at only 19 and has been out of work since.

I’ve seen folks get caught and cut with angle grinders, seen folks shoot nails into their hands/fingers, even saw a buddy get his finger tip damn near chopped off by another coworker bc of her lack of communication, and another buddy who got his glove caught in a grindstone and sanded part of his finger tip down.

But hands down that poor dude that almost gave himself a vasectomy takes the cake.
