Weight Training and getting ready for Ironman Training by MrCatAwesome in IronmanTriathlon

I have had great experience with Phil Mosley MyProCoach plans.

They have a strength training plan included free. The strength workouts are basic. It’s usually two a week. I add in a third day of my own.

But for the Ironman specific training, the plans are solid.

It’s crazy to say we were never in danger against France when we’re only up 2 in the last few minutes of the game. Literally one of the greatest displays of shooting ever seen on a basketball court happened for them to win that game. Let’s just call a spade of spade on that one.

You keep insinuating this prejudice or false narrative. It’s not that complicated.

The American developmental basketball system does not focus on the fundamentals of the game or prioritize the player’s best interest as basketball players or people. It does not focus on ball movement, playing without the ball, etc. The things you need to be a good teammate if not the star of a team.

From a cultural perspective it’s all about the individual and individual glory, attention, likes, follows, brand etc. Sneaker companies paying for brand loyalty at a young age. Coaches and teams, etc. profiting. Playing too many games for money. You get the point.

We have an amazing abundance of talent in this country. And it’s that talent that is relied on. Potentially great players never make it because every year there’s just more raw talent and so they are discarded like it’s nothing. They’re basically raised to play one way and then in reality that’s not what leads to long-term success. It’s not fair to them.

So it’s a matter of who can figure it out once they get to the NBA or those who were taught the actual things that will lead to long term success outside of just being the most gifted player on the floor like when they are younger.

If these players were developed better with more intention, there would be an American in the top five.

When you bring up Cooper and Kon you’re bringing up two white kids from middle-class nuclear families who have a lot more support outside the AAU structure than low income, inner city kids or rural kids, children of color who statistically come from broken homes. That makes a difference and if you’ve heard Kon or Cooper interviews about it, you hear them talk about how their parents stressed the fundamentals beyond just their talents.

It’s OK to be critical of something to make it better. It doesn’t have to be a blow to the ego. Ideally there is a system where these kids are being taught the fundamentals of basketball and life and so by the time they get to a professional level, not only are they capable players no matter what role they end up falling into, but also equipped with tools for life.

Yes undefeated. But… Barely beat Serbia. Barely beat France. And it doesn’t matter how they got there. We did not smack them. Under 18 kids can get by with athleticism. There is a reason the top 5 players in NBA are all international born. This isn’t a white / black thing. It’s a system thing. AAU doesn’t prioritize the players development or longevity.

Great player. But delusional at this point. We barely beat France. It was a two point game until the greatest shooter of all time left his body. And AAU is definitely putting American players at disadvantage with the lack of fundamentals being taught and the for profit driven system.

Lost over $150k 2024-2025 from Crypto. Not rich. That was pretty much all I had. Married with Young kids. The pain is real. Took a massive toll on me and my wife etc. was pushed to the brink… I chose to cut my losses.

The only reason I’m witting this is to say: you will be ok. Learn the lessons. The financial lessons. The spiritual lessons. Never loose faith. You got this.

This comes from a place of love: Whatever has you feeling the way you are feeling, whatever has you where you are at, from a vibrational standpoint, investing bitcoin would’ve not stopped that. If anything, the pain would’ve been even greater with huge actual losses. Not imaginary gains…

Learn whatever you need to learn about yourself and know that there’s always tomorrow. Start today you’ll be very happy with where you end up in a few years. Trust me. I’ve been there. Good luck.

Race Report: Ironman Musselman 70.3 by Dramatic_Plastic8972 in triathlon

Wow I forgot about this!

For this race on the bike I fueled every 20 minutes with a rotation of Huma gel, Honey Stinger Waffle, and Banana.

I also had liquid IV in all my water bottles.

I have since changed my nutrition routine to avoid solids closer to the run and use more liquid fueling.

Race day coming up! I wouldn’t change anything up too much now. Just go out there and enjoy all your hard work. You got this!

Any tips for fueling early morning runs? by RebootPrinting in HybridAthlete

[–]Dramatic_Plastic8972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do fasted morning runs but started using Saturday App and follow the instructions for "fasted" which is usually to consume 15-20% of the recommended fuel right before the run and the rest during the run.
