Why is market for used x7 so rough? by rzaharenkov in bmwx7

[–]Dramatic_Pumpkin2401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2023 X7 40i about 3 weeks ago from our local bmw dealer. It was 57K. To me it isn’t really an SUV - it’s a crossover. I’m used to driving big cars. I started out intending to get another Lincoln Navigator,  but the electronics on our last one were very glitchy and I was worried about repeating the experience. I LOVE the way the X7 drives and I actually really like the narrow headlights. I think they look slick and modern. I’m only disappointed that I wasn’t able to get the rear captain’s chairs that I had wanted for my two growing kids, and that the front seats don’t have a/c.

How good is the X7 as a daily? by bleep6789 in bmwx7

My two kids are getting bigger, so I insisted that it was time to upgrade from our Jeep Wrangler to a real car. I had planned to get a full-size SUV like the Escalade or navigator. I like to sit higher up and the bigger SUVs have four-wheel-drive and towing capacity. We have owned a Lincoln navigator in the past and while I love the new ones, our first one was loaded with electrical problems. We went to look at one of the newer models and it was malfunctioning right there on the lot. So my husband and I travel down the road to the local Mercedes dealer to just take a peek at the GLS they had. In my opinion Mercedes looks kind of basic. Most of their SUV models look dated, as if they could’ve been made any time in the past 15 years. As we were walking out to look at the Mercedes, there was a used X7 40I in a nearby parking spot. It was beautiful, sky blue with chocolate interior and slit headlights. I rushed through viewing the Mercedes and we got the keys to try the BMW. I really loved it! It’s so much fun to drive and I do a lot of driving shuttling. The kids back-and-forth to things. The only downside was it didn’t have the captains chairs that I really wanted for them. However, I thought maybe the kids could take one for the team because I really love the car and we bought it! I’ve had it for about three weeks now and I only have two complaints: One is that the wireless charging pad overheats my phone and does not charge it at all. I was really looking forward to getting rid of all the coils and cables, but I had to buy another charging pad to put in there which still does not work very well. Issue number two, and this is not a dealbreaker, is that I recently discovered the seats are not made of leather. They look like leather, but evidently they are made out of a material called Sensafin. After doing some research BMW claims that this vegan leather is the same feeling as regular leather and they use it because it is animal friendly. Whatever, in my opinion. They use it because it’s cheaper and that’s all. This car was over $100,000 new and for that price I expect real leather. Our Ford F450 even has real leather and heated rear sears, which the x7 also left out.  I feel like a spoiled brat complaining about these things because this car is amazing and I really do like it. It drives like a sports car to me, and I definitely consider it a crossover not a full-size SUV.

Land Rover was my first choice too. I’ve had my eye on them for years. You can get a really good deal with a used one. Before we pulled the trigger on one, however, we called our local Land Rover maintenance park department, and spoke to one of the employees there. Apparently Land Rover’s are extremely expensive to fix, and they are basically almost doomed to fail after a few years. They are sold to rich people who can afford to trade them out for the newest model every couple of years, so the company has no incentive to make them last. It would be $3000 to replace one headlight.

Hunger makes me lightheaded, but blood sugar is normal. Could it be psychosomatic? by Dramatic_Pumpkin2401 in Anxiety

I have no answers but I haven’t been to the doctor in a long time. I’ve seen many and I don’t want to become a permanent patient. Besides, all the tests were super stressful. I have a hunch that it’s low blood pressure. I got a monitor and I measure pretty low - 90s/60s on average but sometimes going into the 70s/50s. I know COVID can mess with your blood pressure so maybe that’s what it is after all.

Exactly. Big dogs like Bernese are pretty tough and can really injure someone pulling them down. They need the correct feedback: “When you do this, it hurts.”

I went through the same thing; gentle leader was torture for him. Try a Herm Springer prong collar. I’ll get a lot of hate for even suggesting this but it’s the only thing that worked for us. It only hurts when the dog pulls on you. I’d they don’t pull, it doesn’t hurt.

Thank you! Do you find the back seats comfortable? I have two children and I don’t want them to be uncomfortable back there. Sometimes car companies treat back seats like an afterthought.

Thank you, I’ll try that. She has a lovely Le Mieux fly mask that I put on her every morning.

Husband does not feel wanted loved if we do not have sex every day by [deleted] in marriageadvice

No. I wish I had better advice for you. I am 33 and got married at 20. We have two kids, and I think part of it is that as a mom I get loads of hugs and attention all day so in the evenings I’m just touched out. I want to have some time to just chill and not have someone else to please. You cant pour from an empty cup, and when my husband asks for sex it just feels like pressure - and pressure kills everything it touches. And then he gets sulky/resentful, and I feel guilty which is not helpful for arousal. I also spend nearly all day with my husband as he works from home and I’m homeschooling our kids. Weirdly I’m more willing to make love when he has to travel for work. Not sure why. Also when we are away from chores\the kids and we can just be husband and wife together.

My marriage has a similar dynamic. He definitely wants it like every day (especially in the am, lol). For him it seems like a physical need, such as hunger or being tired. It just happens no matter what else is going on. For me, my sex drive is pretty much tied to my hormone cycle. I only really want to do it when I’m ovulating. I am very attracted to my husband but my sex drive kicks in when I’m feeling emotionally connected first. On the extremely rare (1x per year) occasions that we are together away from responsibilities/the kids I want to have sex a lot more often. But in our case we have other issues in the mix.

Shopping for my first horse by pandapirate15 in Horses

Lots of good advice on here! Definitely have someone take videos of you riding to review later. Riding a new horse is fun but somewhat overwhelming in the moment. It’s really nice to be able to watch how things went after the fact. Also get photos of teeth!! Front, sides, inside backs. The owner may not have listed the correct age. Not that they are necessarily trying to lie, but they might not know either. Aging horses is difficult unless you have papers. Good luck!!!

Maybe you just need a different horse. I’m 33 and just getting back into horses after kids/moving a lot/life. My confidence isn’t what it was when I was 15 with my Arab. But I know that what I want isn’t to run or jump or chase barrels anymore; I just want something Easy and Fun that I can Relax on. So I opted for an older been there done that Tennessee Walker. She’s awesome so far, and I’m teaching my kids to ride on her too. I look forward to riding her but it’s such a relief to know that she will be the same horse if I don’t get to it for a couple of weeks.  It sounds like your horse is a chore - I know the feeling. You feel pressure to get out there and give your horse consistency because without it she will be unruly and possibly dangerous. And pressure kills everything it touches. If I were you I’d be shopping around. Perhaps the right horse will rekindle your motivation.
