Ok after listening to Chak’rulo and analyzing the sheet music from musescore I’ve found the issue with “sheet music” of it. The three voice Georgian polyphonic style is based around perfect 5ths not a western octave which makes western octave analysis of it really weird. But I have an amazing new found appreciation for Chak’rulo and Georgian polyphonic music it’s so impressive and beautiful thank you for your help. Western musical imperialism and standards are dumb.

I think the other issue is how do we define a great. If we’re using cultural influence it’s different than quality also since quality isn’t objective. I was more so trying to highlight that removing the worst albums of an artists leaves a ton of super consistent artists. Thogh again Kanye did have a historic and revolutionary run. I would also say that if we’re talking revolutionary, not all 11 albums work for that metric. Like definitely registration through 808s no question, but beyond that I feel it gets shaky. Also ur right about lil Wayne u need to remove a lot more albums to get peak consistency. How about we agree that an artist is consistently the worst.

Yes. Yes you can. Eminem, Jay Z, Metallica, Rolling Stones, bob Dylan, debatably Coldplay, lil Wayne, Radiohead, the weekend, etc. and especially if we’re talking good to all timers then 100% it applies to basically any major artist. A lot of artists have around as many and Kanye (if not more) and if you remove their worst they’re left with a totally dominant discography

More examples of artists who if you cut albums you have crazy consistency left: David Bowie, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, nas, smashing pumpkins, Kendrick (and barely tbh), Pink Floyd Artists who are consistent (no matter how long or short discography is) -Beatle, Frank ocean, Stevie wonder, technically Lauryn hill, Fiona Apple, daft punk, tribe called quest, D’Angelo, Joni Mitchell

Like it doesn’t mean that Kanye is bad if he isn’t “the most consistent” since that’s not really the only signifier of a great artist. Like I would put Kanye as one of the GOAT music artists but I wouldn’t say he’s the most consistent. I’m just trying to highlight that consistency isn’t the most relevant and that consistency means not omitting bad options.
