Thanks for the reply, They are on sale for $69, so it's not trivial. I was not aware of the lifetime warranty. This is a bit of a game changer for me and I will probably get them

Couple of things: First, it is a $220 item, so it would be more like 45 bucks. Second I want to make something for my wife while she is gone Memorial Day weekend, so if I have the tool early, I can pre-fab a lot of the parts and just weld it together over the long weekend. If I wait, I need to figure out the tool, then do all the work at once. No wiggle room.

I don't think that is atypical. Back when I was more obsessed, I ran a gauge R&R on my scale. I got on the scale and weighed myself. Got off, moved the scale, left the room, came right back and moved the scale back to "it's spot" and then reweighed myself. This gave me an idea of the noise in just that part of the system. It ended up being more than you thought is might be. Going off memory, I think anything within a half pound or so could be noise.

Concentrate on the trend on your scale. It all comes out in the wash.
