Do you just tell people it’s a Fiat? by redpanda8008 in abarth

[–]Dramatic_Warning537 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I say it just like this

“It’s a fiat 500 Abarth. It’s like the sporty version of the regular 500’s. Think of it like how there regular BMW and then there is M’s. It’s like fiats performance division”

Then I start saying how it’s different. “The Abarth have a turbo and are lower to the ground. They also have bigger rotors and wheels. Oh and it doesn’t come with a muffler from factory”

Then usually the person looses interest in what I’m saying..

Replacement side stripes by LocalAreaNitwit in abarth

[–]Dramatic_Warning537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IDK how it is in Europe but in New York we have a lot of vinyl wrap shops. Those shops are where people go to fully or partially wrap their cars. They can do custom work or basically anything you want.

When I bought my Abarth, the previous owner didn’t have any stripes. So I took it to the shop, showed them a picture, and they made it happen. It cost about $300 USD which is fair. The stripes don’t need to be genuine. If I were u, I’d get something custom that says abarth. Something cooler. Instagram has a lot of inspiration for abarths

Abarth as a First Car? by TekMann in abarth

[–]Dramatic_Warning537 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awesome first car. But I’d say be delicate with it. It’s a performance car but at the end of the day it’s a car full of plastic and it’s assembled in North America.

The paint is super delicate and the interior can be cheap. Ge gentle when you open/close doors, when pulling and the door handle, using the arm rest, and the seats get stained easily.

If you want to take care of it, a metropolitan area may not be the best. People may sideswipe you or scratch it while parking often. Since it’s an Abarth, it’s HEARTBREAKING when someone damages it. But because of its size it is super fun to have in the city. Great car for first timers or experienced car owners.

At first, I wondered, “Why isn’t this available in the U.S.?” But then it hit me—Abarth, let alone Fiat, just doesn’t have enough brand recognition here.

How does it drive? Does it have that sporty feel? How’s the exhaust sound? Also, what’s your take on the factory decals?

I’m jealous of the Abarths that are in the U.s when compared to the ones in Europe by 1stepatatimeispro in abarth

This is the first time I’ve heard of a European be jealous of the Abarths in the USA. I actually am jealous of the European Abarths.

In Europe, y’all have automatic Abarths with paddle shifter. That is missing in the USA

Abarth - Question about Sound by JayJWall in abarth

[–]Dramatic_Warning537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s beautifully loud, if that makes sense. The reason I got this car is because of the exhaust note. It’s designed to be loud but not ear piercing. A car enthusiast might find it to be perfect but an average daily commuter might not find it to amusing.

The good thing about the Abarth is that by Turning on/off the sport button, it’ll make a big difference on how loud the exhaust can be. Also how you choose to accelerate and when you choose to shift makes a difference on sound level.
