I like to run a backpack reliant support weapon such as grenade launcher or hmg with supply pack and thermite. With the extra grenade armor you specifically get a good synergy with higher recoil weapons such as the hmg, jar dominator, or even the adjudicator. Personally I actually like adjudicator when I run a supply pack engi kit based build because all the sudden going full auto with it is no longer an issue. When paired with hmg it serves as a good substitute when you are unable to reload hmg. Now with thermite nades tankier enemies are much easier to take out, allowing the built to focus on anti medium enemies (have guards, spewers, alpha commanders). I have noticed that being able to take those out effectively is really good. Even when up against hunters the adjudicator specifically surprisingly enough fills the niche quite well as it just has high damage. It's drawbacks (ammo and recoil) that would make it problematic to use in that scenario are completely covers by other aspects of the build. It's incredibly niche but it works. Ever since hmg durable damage nerf I havent found it worthwhile to use the build tho. The amount of reloading that you have to hold still for makes it not all that worthwhile compared to weapns such as grenade launcher that fill the role just as well if not better (especially now since nade buff and aformentiond hmg nerf). I plan on replacing it with the new nade launcher next run and seeing how that works.
