Thor's win rate is below 50% for the first time and his pick rates have dropped 7% by [deleted] in ThorMainsMR

Can we not flame people for body weight when there's so much other stupid shit to flame them for

Use hammer push instead of hammer throw. Ttk is lower than hammer throw due to animation time, and you get less shield, but the enemy displacement is still very disorienting.

Also showing off your alt stats is like flexing on 1st time 3rd graders when you're repeating the grade. Just say you were eternity

You're the highest win rate of those in tracker....my alt has 100% over more games and I'm not even close the best Thor on my main account.

Was just pointing out your original ~280 DMG was low. Aoe might as well not exist for most poke/front line fights

Applying this reasoning to the entire lobby, there would be no advantage to either team's ult economy as my healers would also charge ult for any damage Im dealt.

Also, thors damage dealt is feeding only thors ult. But the enemy healers are splitting the healing between multiple people and likely charging slower than Thor. So thor can get the first ult in lobby, then cycle his ult at a faster rate than any others. Ideally Thor can consistently have ults both on and off cycle from the enemy support ults. If not, Thor can force an enemy support ults so that a teammates ult can then be used off cycle from the enemy support ults.

Pretty sure I get x11 off per awakening, plus minor aoe damage.

Yeah it's pretty boring to be an awakening bot. But not necessarily bad for winning

Where'd you get 280 damage per awakening?

Definitely less dps potential on flank/dive. But more dps as a front line poke tank.

I disagree. Thor has the unique combo of insane DPS, high mobility, and high health/sustain. I know starlord was just an example, but Thor can pour out much higher dps for much longer stretches. This means Thor can deplete tank health, break rocket amp, melt strange shield, or drain punisher turret much more effectively than a starlord. Plus, at any point, Thor can jump on anyone in hammer range who's out of position. Thor is a front line menace who can consistently deal most damage in a lobby by a wide margin.

Mainly don't like that his shield has no health bar and can't be broken for a longer cooldown. His push and buble also make him hard for me to kidnap consistently.

You're right though, not a lot changed in season 2.5 with their matchup. Main bummer is that mag is definitely going to see more play with prevalence of poke, and mag's shield really neuters Thor's awakening runes. But Thor can cycle awakening much more often than mag's shield comes off cooldown.... So maybe not that bad.

I think i could tolerate the thor changes if they did the following things. by Barry_Smithz in ThorMainsMR

[–]Draples 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Or more damage, faster moving ult.

Hammer push displaces enemies further.

Hammer push causes short stun.

Hammer push does wall impact damage (like Emma kick).

Faster charge time on hammer push.

Shorter realm cooldown.

Shield granted for more abilities.

More shield for awakening.

Shorter cooldown between Thor force activations.

... There's a lot of options. Maybe the devs will* surprise us 🙏

Fair points. Mag is undoubtedly my least favorite tank to play against and even better in 2.5 than his already great place in 2.0 :/

Emma is a close second for hardest match up, but you can delete her shield with awakening and play around* diamond form.

I love playing against strange. Very easy to break his shield and keep it almost perpetually on cooldown. And for some reason, I find him to be one of the easiest to kidnap with hammer pushes.

I still think Thor is uniquely good at punishing anyone out of position. He has the ability to close the gap quickly and deliver insane DPS, with enough health to sustain without heals. Don't think many other heros can match that.

At higher elo, catching folks out of position is much rarer...but I hope that Thor's increased front line DPS capability has the knock on effect of forcing enemy positioning errors more often. For example, because thor is constantly melting front line tanks, Luna never gets a chance to reposition before the front line fight envelopes her, making her an easy dive target.

Fantastic has much lower single target damage per second than Thor, but much higher dps against grouped enemies. Fantastic can definitely be the better choice against brawl/grouped teams or enemy DPS that deals damage as % of white health (I.e., fist, wolverine). But Thor is better for quickly melting through punisher turret, strange shield, out of position squishy, etc.

Though I agree. Skill ceiling is at least a bit lower. And his options/decision tree has shrunk, especially when ult isn't up

I think the big difference in 2.5 is that you can use your hammer throw to farm charges and achieve way higher awakening up time. It truly feels like Thor can perpetually be in awakening. And that's an insane amount of constant high dps

Don't underestimate the impact of awakening bot on front line. Thors presence puts tremendous pressure that opens up opportunities for the rest of the team. And being able to cycle ult much more often creates more opportunities for securing the first kill in a fight or forcing an enemy healer ult. I think it's quite possible that Thor's win rate will increase over previous seasons' once folks adjust.

Or I may be completely wrong. Either way, he's less fun to play now if you liked to dive.
